A/N: I couldn't decide whether to make this the prologue or the Description so I went with Prologue. Enjoy!
Prologue
"But, Momma, boys have cooties!"
Childhood is the most important part of life. The time when you learn right from wrong, you learn your manners, you learn who you want to be, or what you want to be.
Most things stick with you in childhood. For instance, developing habits like sleeping with the nightlights on, nail biting, or even needing that comfort object. Things like your personality, or even opinions on certain things.
"They're so icky!"
Some things may be for better or for worse. Children are seriously the most stubborn, and impressionable. Once they see something they like, they stick with it. Some see a girl with beautifully dyed hair and want to be exactly the same. Or they hear something other adults or teens say, and repeat the same things.
"Especially the naughty ones,"
Society is the worst. They make them feel like they need to look a certain way, or do certain things. Very little act against society. They do the complete opposite of what society wants. Blonde, natural orange, strawberry blonde, brown hair is 'normal'? No, this little girl will take bright red hair. Most of society's teens are into every drug possible, getting wasted every night, terrible grades? Try again, she's pledged to stick with perfect grades, and innocence is key. As long as she is sneaky and mature about it, right?
"They always break the rules,"
Can one person change that, though? The decisions a child makes in their younger years?
"And they never listen!"
"but I'm not bad! I didn't do anything wrong! All I did was throw a worm. I'm innocent!"
"Mommy, he's lying! They always lie! I can never love a bad boy. EVER! I'm too good for them. I'm a good girl."
Boy, did that change.
