~Jacob~
I call Mike from across the room shaking my head. I gave this man one job and he can't even do it without getting distracted. He started walking my way but my eyes became focused on the girl. She looked so familiar.

"Sorry Prince, but come on, shorty was too fine," Mike said while grabbing the hot Cheetos off the rack.

I try to catch a second glance, but Mike blocks my view by waving the hot Cheetos in my face.

"You happy now, Prince Jacob?" He says in a mocking tone.

I just roll my eyes and snatch the bag out of his hand, causing him to chuckle. We make our way to the front of the store to pay for everything and then we leave. I was in such a daze, I couldn't even remember getting in the car.

I hear a snap in my ear which breaks me out of my day dream. My eyes quickly shot to Mike laughing at my sudden state of shock.
"Dang bruh you need to chill, looking like someone pulled a gun on you," he says, getting out of the car.

Taking my seatbelt off, I slowly got out of the car and got some of the bags out of the back seat. We then made our way to Eli's hotel room, where he was waiting for us.

For the rest of the day we were just chillin' and clowning around, my mind not really on old girl from the store, but that soon changed when I was alone, in my own hotel room. It was like she just forced her way into my thoughts and I wasn't ready for it.

Was that her?

No it couldn't have been.

Then again I am in our home town, so it would make sense.

I missed her a lot but I'm not ready to face her-

"Yo Prince, you aight? You look like something's bothering you" Eli says, walking into my room. I thought the door was locked.

"How did you even get in here?"

"The door was cracked so I decided to check up on you. You ok?" He asks again.

Tbh no I feel like I'm going to have a panic attack.

"Yes, I'm fine just a little nervous" I lie.

"For the show? It's ok bro we all are, but you know we're gonna kill it like we always do" Eli said, reassuring me.

I just put on a smile so he could leave me alone.

"Yeah you're right. MB always kills it on stage" I said with fake enthusiasm.

He smiled back, and gives me a handshake, then finally leaves, shutting the door behind him.

I grab my phone and scroll through the contacts. Finally I come across the one I was looking for and I quickly press call.

"Hello?"

"Yeah, August? It's me, Jacob".

~Delilah~

Face down, on a pillow, I'm laying on my bed, thinking about what just happened. I only caught a glimpse of his curly fro but I knew it had to be him. I wonder if he ever tried to get back in touch with me or my parents. Does he even care about us anymore? Does he even care about me anymore?

I make my way over to my bathroom and splash some water on my face from the sink. My eyes stare at my reflection. My parents always told me repeatedly that it wasn't my fault that he ran away. They searched for him for days. They even got the police involved. It seemed like the longer he was gone, the deeper into depression I sunk. It got so bad, I couldn't even sleep without nightmares, or eat.

When years later I found out that he was ok and actually doing quite well for himself, I was happy, but a part of me was also sad. It was like, he was doing so much better without me in his life. I began thinking that maybe, he didn't need me after all. So I tried my best to get over him.

I decide to just stay in my room and eat the snacks that I had bought from the store and watch Netflix.

After about four movies I got bored and made my way to the kitchen to get some real food. I walked past the living room and heard my father talking to someone. He was talking with urgency like something was wrong, so I listened in on what he was saying.

"Are you ok? Is something wrong?"

-

"Calm down, it's gonna be okay".

-

"I didn't tell you because I didn't think it was important".

-

"You haven't even spoken to me or Nicki in months! How was I supposed to know you were coming?"

-

"Wait, I'm sorry I didn't mean to yell I'm just frustrated".

-

"Do you even want to see her?"

-

"Ok, I'll make sure she comes to the show".

-

"Ok, see ya Jacob".

What? I know he isn't talking to THAT Jacob. This must be some other Jacob that I don't know about.

"Dad, is everything ok?" I ask, making him jump.

"Yeah, everything's aight. I was just handling something important". He said trying to avoid eye contact.

"It's funny because I could have sworn I heard you say Jacob". I said trying to keep my composure. They've been talking to Jacob this whole entire time without me?

He just sighs and looks at me with apologetic eyes.

"I'm sorry Delilah. We wanted to tell you but Jacob couldn't handle talking to you. He felt so bad about leaving and he was missing you so much. He just couldn't face you" he tried to explain.

"Why is everything always about him and how he feels? Why can't you or him or anyone else just care about me and how I feel for once?! I'm getting tired of this! He's not even your kid!" I couldn't help it. All of my emotions just got the best of me and I spilled everything out.
