The next day, Snake and the other members of K-Unit woke up to find Alex's bed empty, causing Snake to growl in frustration, before storming off to the mess hall to find the boy.
"ALEX" He stood over him, his eyes glowing with contempt. "You cannot escape this, I WILL check your very apparent injuries- No, I don't care what you think." The medic grabbed Alex's t-shirt, hauling him up and out of the room.
The other units could only watch the very short exchange in amazement, with a few smirks creeping onto their faces when they heard a thud, followed by:
"ALEX!"

By some miracle, the sneaky teen managed to avoid his unit for the rest of the day, only seeing them at dinner, to which Snake only glowered at Alex. He knew it would just be stupid to drag it out anymore, it was clear Alex wouldn't anyone look at his injuries.
The table sat in silence, listening to the chatter from other units and the clatter of their forks on plates, when suddenly Alex dropped his own fork, letting out a huge yawn.
"I'm really tired, I'm going to head to bed early." With another yawn, he stood, staggering over to the the hatch to deposit his barely-touched dinner. Upon reaching it, he lent against the wall to one side for a second, attempting to stop his head spinning quite so ferociously.
"Cubby? You okay? You're looking a bit pale." Fox called out, using this to direct the attention of the rest of his unit at Alex.
"What?... Oh, yeah, yeah, I'm fine." He muttered in reply, before stumbling out of the mess hall.

Pressing down heavily on the door handle of K-Unit's barracks, Alex lent against the door with his shoulder, pushing it open. He was lucky that it opened so easily, he didn't think he had enough energy to do much else.
By some miracle, Alex made it do his bed, and, without considering to take even just his boots off, he fell, face first, straight onto the stiff mattress. The thud of him falling didn't even register in his mind, as he was already fast asleep.

An hour or so later, K-Unit would walk in, chatting about the latest gossip at Breacon Beacons, before all noticing the teen collapsed on his bed. And so busy were they seeing Alex, they would fail to notice the small hissing noise, almost silent, from a vent tucked away in one corner. They would only notice their eyelids growing heavier, their movements becoming sluggish and their minds become disorientated and few minutes later, each following Alex's example, making much louder, but still slightly muffled thuds as they, in turn, fell onto their beds.
Little did they know of the silent commotion outside as several black vans with darkened windows pulled up. Little did they know of the dozen shadowing figures clambering out of these vans, dart guns in hand. Little did they know of the many guards dropping down unconscious into the mud. Little did they know of the lock slowly twisting with no key in sight.
Little did they know of Alex being dragged away into the night...
