"It's raining." An eight year old Chiba said as he looked up to his older cousin, Lee Hakim.
"Yeah.." Lee huffed disappointed as he shook out his wet raven hair. "C'mon lets get going before we get sick."
Chiba gave him a disappointed look before the older boy decides to ruffle his peachy hair.
With his honey brown eyes still down casted he smiled.
"Okay, big cousin."
Chiba still had a habit of calling Lee this due to only knowing him for a week now.
With that, Lee stiffened slightly in annoyance and looks over at the small boy with sharp golden eyes.
Chiba flinched slightly, making eye contact with seemingly dangerous looking eyes.
Lee took notice and quickly try change the rather dark aura that he had created with a wide grin that showed off all his pearly shark like teeth.
"What have you told you, Chiba? Just call me Lee." He reminded Chiba as he turned away.
"But you don't really look like a Lee." Chiba said quiet bluntly.
"Oi!.." Lee retorted quickly "Its not like I choose my name.."
"Well, yeah..I know." Chiba responded, trying to soften the blow. "But we can always choose a nickname!" Chiba smiled brightly.
"I don't need a nickname." Lee laughed a little, becoming a bit amused by Chiba, who has been shy and calm up til now, blossom into a lively and cheerfully sweet child.
"Sure you do. Everyone needs a nickname." Chiba stated.
"I think your nickname should be Heart."
Lee raised an eyebrow,"And why is that?.. "
Chiba thinks for a moment before answering "Well, its because your actually a nice person but you seem have a lot of secrets..and mom said that when you keep a secret, you keep them in your heart."
Lee stared down at him for a moment before letting a small laugh out. He then reaches over to ruffle Chiba's already messy hair.
"Call me whatever you want, weirdo."
Then Lee took off running towards their slightly run-down two story house.
"Catch ya on the flip side." Lee winks, playfully challenging Chiba to a race.
"Coming, Heart!" Chiba called out as he tries to catch up with Lee.***
"We're home!" Lee yells as he carelessly swings open the front door.
Chiba shivered slightly due to being cold and wet from the rain.
"Get changed before you two get sick!" Siren, Chiba's mother and Lee's aunt called out from the kitchen.
Lee shuts the wooden door.
" Yeah, yeah..." He mumbles as he shook out his wet raven hair and went up stairs with Chiba close behind.
After a few moments of changing, only Chiba returns to the first floor.
A rather , with the lack of better words, lovely small woman in her mid twenties with long platinum blonde hair and big hazel eyes walks quickly over to her son and scoops him up into a hug. Chiba squeaked softly as he enjoyed his mother's embrace.
"I'm going to be gone for a little bit. Do you think that can be a good big brother and watch over your little siblings?" Siren asked as she smiled softy.
Chiba quickly nods.
"Good. I knew that I could count on you!" Siren kisses Chiba's forehead and takes her leave.
After she leaves Chiba hurriedly ran up the stairs to his little sibling's room.
