You'd think that falling down a few hundred feet from the sky was the last way I thought I would die, but here I am, quickly descending to my impending death.

The first thing that came across my mind was how in the world did I get into this situation, and the last thing was how many bones I'll break when my body eventually hits the hard floor.

Let's be honest here, I don't want to think about the last thing.

The only thing I remember before coming here was testing the teleporter machine that I had been working on for quite a while.

See, I lived in the 24th century and my life was doing fine at this point. I managed to establish quite a few patents and inventions in the mechanical and medical world. I had a company that was worth billions, and my advances in the technological and medical profession awarded me a few international prizes, including the Nobel Prize.

I had been praised as a child genius for creating cybernetic enhancements and genetically altering the human genome. I had lowered the global infant mortality rate, increased the life expectancy rate and manage to cure most of the diseases on earth.
I had also made mechanical limbs for soldiers, regrow entire arms and made them re-attachable for patients, and a plethora of other things.

I had recently started working on quantum entanglement and decided to create a teleporter. The technology was still new and the science was still being explored so I thought I would give it a shot and try my luck. This must either mean that I got close but failed miserably thus causing the teleporter to go haywire and slap me into a random place, or this had nothing to with the teleporter and I'm here for an unknown reason.

Either way, thinking about it too much isn't going to help me get out of my current predicament... and speaking of which, the ground was rapidly approaching.

I quickly took my shirt off and tried to position it in a way that would reduce my landing, but to no avail as I hit the ground with a force that shook my entire body.

I could hear my bones cracking violently and my head instantly got cloudy. At that moment, all I could think was that I was definitely not dead.

Shit, this hurts way more than I thought it would.

My body is bombarded with blazing pain as I try to stand up. All I can taste is the rough dirt and the sharp tinge of iron from the blood on my lips. I try opening my mouth but that doesn't work too well either. It seems that I broke mostly all of my bones on impact.

The only reason I'm even remotely alive is that my body is strengthened using cybernetics.

"Hey, analyze my body and give me the statistics." I thought inwardly. A few seconds later, a small voice starts talking in the back of my head.

Good, at least the AI Chip I installed is still functioning.

「 Several bones fractures detected, and a few bones are broken. Internal hemorrhaging detected. You also have a small concussion. 」 The AI Chip responds with a bit of expression, it's voice was dull.

"Tell me how many bones are fractured," I said.

「 One-hundred and twenty-two. 」

What? That can't be right, that's like half of the bones in my body.

"Hey, repeat that for me again," I ask, my mouth hurt as I try to open It.

「You currently have one-hundred and twenty-two broken or fractured bones. 」
