I sighed and vaguely explained how I’d wandered down to the pub, had a couple pints, but then some fans recognized me from the gig and bought me more drinks. I caught a cab home and then told him about how I’d said some things that upset Tori,
“Oh, what exactly did you say?” he asked
Being under his gaze like this made me nervous
“What did you say, Sykes?!” he growled, roughly grabbing me
“I was plastered, mate, I couldn’t help it” I said
“Nathan” he warned
“Alright, she told me that… I said” I sighed “I said ‘drunk or sober, I’m still the same’ and then ‘let me off the leash’ I think” I said
His eyes were dangerous
“Damn it, Nathan” he groaned, shoving me away, making my head spin
Now I’d be getting the cold shoulder from both people in the house
“Look, you’re going to fix this and I guess I’m gonna have to help you” he groaned, falling back on the couch
“What?” I gasped
Tom wanting to help me with Tori was one thing I’d thought I’d never hear
“You make her happy, I can see that, when you’re not being a stupid git, that is” he said “I’m going to help clean up your mess” he said, going into his room
With that, I went into my own bedroom to change. When Tori stepped out of the bathroom, I silently walked past her and into the bathroom to wash up. I slapped on some aftershave, spritzed on some cologne and managed to look presentable. I gelled up my hair and was the last out. Tori wore skin hugging, dark wash, skinny jeans, black knee high boots, and a pale blouse and jacket. Tom wore something similar, dark jeans, combat boots, and a white shirt with a black leather jacket. He cast me a glance before leading Tori out the door. Tom drove, Tori sat shotgun and I stared out the window in the backseat.
It was about eleven in the morning, so we were catching an early lunch. Tom got us a booth, where he nudged me into the booth and purposely made Tori sit next to me, which she wasn’t particularly happy about. Tom sat across from us. The hostess was quick to hand us menus, saying our server would be with us shortly,
“So…Tori, I just thought I should let you know…you’re boyfriend here dedicated a song to you at the gig last night” Tom said, trying to make me look good
I beamed thankfully at him
“Oh, which song?” she asked, looking at the menu, still ignoring me
“One of our newer ones, your favorite, you know ‘Satellites’?” he asked
“Oh, how nice” she mumbled, her eyes not leaving the menu
I sighed, thinking this wasn’t going to work
“Oh, I should also tell you… there was this girl, tall, blonde, really fit…threw herself on Nathan” Tom said, smirking and nodding
“Oh?” Tori asked, looking at Tom
I started to panic, giving Tom a “what the hell is wrong with you?” look
“Yeah, she brought him a pint, saying she loved the music, she was being real sweet” he smiled
“Oh” she replied, I could hear the anger in her voice and was really panicking now
“You know what your boyfriend did?” Tom asked
