Don't follow your heart, follow your mind

The heart makes you vulnerable to heartbreak and anything you can find,
The mind gives you the strategy to bend the motives of the heart to a kind,
The heart will fight back and when pain is inflicted you will turn blind,
Covering all the unhappiness and negativity like it had been sent off and signed,
Weakness and defeat is all people see making it how you are defined,
The heart may be gracious and sweet but it can leave you far behind,
But intelligence and the heart is undefeated when combined,
Acting on how your heart feels may be satisfactory but your minds interests may not be aligned,
You can't be immune to heartbreak if your mind and heart aren't intertwined,
If you don't use your common sense and defences your goals and aspirations will be declined,
Abuse and blackmail in a relationship can't be overlooked and you can't simply pretend to be on cloud nine,
Stand up for what is right and see your worth and never be outshined.
