*Kami POV*
I wake up next to Nick and glance over at him to see him still asleep, a small smile on his face. My phone buzzes with a text message and I see that there's 4 new messages, all from Trent.
Kami please forgive me.
Don't leave me.
Kami Please don't breakup with me.
Kami, please you don't know how much I love you.
I glance at them. As soon as I see the first one I put my phone down, I roll my eyes at the lies. Why did he wait to tell me if he loved me?
Nick wakes up and stretches, his arm gently hitting mine as he raises them outwards. "Whoops," he says, grinning at me. "I think this is the prettiest wake-up call I've ever had," he says, his blues eyes staring into mine. I blush at his words as my phone buzzes with a new text.
Kami, please talk to me.
I sigh and Nick gives me a look as he gets out of bed. "Everything okay?" He asks, as he brushes down his hair, attempting to make it a little less messy. "Yeah, it's just my ex," I tell him, muting my phone so that I won't be bothered by Trent anymore.
He takes my hand and leads me downstairs to his kitchen. There's a note on the table from his mom saying that she left for work and that if he makes breakfast, he should clean up after himself. He pulls the egg carton out of the fridge and a box of pancake mix from the cabinet. "Should we attempt these?" He says, laughing. I grin back. "It's worth a try."
We put all the ingredients into a bowl and mix it together, throwing in some blueberries from the fridge to make blueberry pancakes. "You have a little something on your face," Nick says, reaching out his hand. He wipes pancake batter on my nose and I laugh at his antics. "Oh well I think you have a little something right here," I say, taking some batter and smearing it across his mouth.
He laughs and his smile makes me feel all warm and bubbly inside. "Maybe you can help me get rid of it," he says teasingly, leaning in and letting our lips mingle, the blueberry taste sweet in between.
Becca's POV
I'm at the mall with my friends, Elana and Kirsten, and we're headed to PINK for some new clothes. "Cute guy on your right," Elana laughs as she gently pushes me, and causes me to stumble and bump into the guy. "Sorry!" I mumble, as I look at the guy.
"No problem," he laughs. "Oh hey, I know you. Becca, right?" Andrew grins back at me and my face instantly turns bright red. Of all the people I could bump into. "Yeah," I manage to squeak out. We're awkwardly standing in the middle of the mall and Andrew's friends are calling him to keep walking. "I'll see you around," he says, running his fingers through his hair and giving me a little smile. "Bye," I say, giving him a little smile back and running back to Elana and Kirsten.
"I can't believe you did that!" I say, laughing and slapping Elana's arm. "Hey! You know you're happy I did," she says, laughing with me. And I know she's right. I hope I really do see Andrew again.
Laura's POV
I curl up on my bed and try to concentrate on my book, my parents yelling at each other in the other room. I finally put down my phone and pick up my phone, texting Sam.
Can you pick me up?
Sure! I'll be right over.
I change into some shorts and a hockey shirt, and grab my wallet, keys, and phone before heading out. My parents don't even notice me leaving as they keep arguing.
Sam gives me a little kiss as I get into his car. "Hey, babe." He notices my face. "Parents fighting again?" I nod slowly, trying not to cry. All they seem to do is fight and since I'm an only child, the only person I can turn to is Sam. "I know exactly what we need," he says.
He drives us to McDonald's and orders two shakes, then drives us home, where he leads me to the backyard and into the treehouse that his parents had built when he was little. It's part of our routine. I call him when my parents are arguing, he picks me up, and we sit in his treehouse. He leans against the pillows that we put up there and I snuggle up against him, his hand protectively holding me.
He knows that I don't want to talk, so we just sit there in silence, sipping our shakes until they're gone. As it starts getting dark outside, I turn to him. "Hey, Sam?" "Yeah," he asks, his brown eyes looking down into my blue ones. "Thanks for being here," I say. "I'm here whenever you need me," he says before leaning down and giving me a kiss.
