Test 00- Where Am I?

Teli was in a small bed-like pod. She woke up, and she got out of the pod. She looked around.

'Where am I,' She thought to herself. 'I could've sworn I was at the arctic facility.'

She looked at the pod she was in.

"You have got to be kidding me," She said. "I couldn't have been in this. I'm too big for this small little thing."

A woman came on the PA.

"Hello, and again," The woman said. "Welcome to the Aperture Science Computer-Aided Enrichment Center. We hope your brief time in detention in the relaxation vault was a pleasant one. Your specimen has been processed and we are now ready to begin the test proper. Before we start, however, keep in mind that although fun and learning are the primary goals of all enrichment center activities, serious injuries may occur. For your own safety, and the safety of others, please refrain from-" The woman's voice was static for a second, then she started speaking in Spanish, and there was static again. "Stand back. The portal will open in 3, 2, 1."

"What the hell," Teli asked herself. She then looked down to see that she was wearing an orange jumpsuit, the words, "Aperture Laboratories" on the jumpsuit.

"Aperture Laboratories? Why does that sound famili-" She realizes something. "That's the facility that my father told me about. So I'm a test subject at this death trap... great..."

She walked through the portal. She was suddenly out of the room she was in. She looked back inside the portal, seeing herself.

"Wow," She said. "I actually look good."

She then shook her head.

"No," She said. "I can't stay here. I need to look for a way out. Though it seems that the only way is to just play along..."

She looked at a calendar. "What? I was here for a week? What happened to father, then..."

She sighed, then kept going to a door, which opened automatically, and she went into the next room.

A box dropped down from a tube, and she walked over to the box.

"What is this," Teli asked. "Well... I'm sure it's not heavy." She picked it up, as she had no trouble carrying it.

She saw a large red button on the floor, and she put the box on the button.

The woman came on again.

"Excellent," The woman said. "Please proceed into the chamber lock after completing each test. First, however, note the incandescent particle field across the exit. This Aperture Science Emancipation Grid will vaporize any unauthorized equipment that passes through it. For instance, the Aperture Science Weighted Storage Cube."

"Emancipation Grid," Teli asked. "Oh, right. The one thing that father said he purchased from this place..." She sighed.

"I'd better continue," She told herself. "I wonder, though..." She picked up a rock, as she walked over to the emancipation grid, and she threw it into the particle field, as the rock incinerated.

"Yikes," She exclaimed. "I'm glad that I have authorized equipment... maybe. Well... I do have this pendant..."

She was wearing a heart shaped pendant, which had a snowflake on a small part of the heart, the symbol of her father's facility.

"I hope... it doesn't get vaporized," She said, worried. "It's my most prized possession..."

Tell sighed. She went through the chamber lock, as she looked at her neck. The pendant was still there.

"Oh thank sweet merciful god," She said. "If this had disintegrated... I... I don't know what I would've done..." She sighs out of relief.

She got to the elevator, then went in.
