Mi-hi sighed, brown hair falling over her shoulders in waves. It was dark, her breath visible in the winter air.
She reached into the pocket of her black jeans, pulling out the packet of cigarettes and the lighter. The minute she held them in front of her, a tatted hand snatched the packet and threw it to the ground, a booted foot grinding them all.
"Seriously, Hanuel? I just got them."
Of course, he didn't reply. It was annoying how he would sometimes make himself visible and chat, and other times he did not. She wished he would make his mind up.
She shook her head and continued to walk, pocketing the lighter, her hands digging deep into her jacket pockets, searching for warmth. She spotted a figure coming towards her, and continued to walk. She knew this area of town was a no go zone, but it was the quickest way home.
As she past the man, he grabbed onto her, slamming her against the wall. She cried out a little from the impact, and closed her eyes in hope the world would stop spinning.
Nothing else happened for a moment, before the man cried out. Mi-hi opened her eyes, thankful everything was normal again. She could see Hanuel, beating the man to the ground.
His black top tight, outlining every muscle, and she watched them tense as his fists made contact with the stranger's face. His hair perfect, black falling over his even darker eyes. The ends of his tattoos peeking out at his neck and hands. Nose piercing shining in the moonlight.
When he was done, he turned to her and quickly made his way over in a few steps. He carefully checked her head, sighing in relief when she was fine.
"Did his angel not help him? He seemed awfully easy to get." She knew he had battles with other guardian angels sometimes, only because he told her. She could only see him.
"No. He was about, but he didn't help. It seemed they were waiting for him to die. He looked disgusted at his human."
"I see."She also knew that happened. When a human was so far gone, the guardian angel wouldn't guard, only observe. It was strange how she was talked about as being pure, yet had a demon for a guardian.
It was weird.
She sighed, grabbing his hand and pulling him along. She wanted to go home and sleep. Everyday was filled with such drama, and death. Definitely a lot of death.
Hanuel had no filter at all. If she was hurt, he'd kill them. If she was talked to wrongly, they were seriously injured. If they were nice and kind, then they could live. A few times he made himself visible to others who were kind, like Diane. She had to admit though, it was easier, and faster.
The only problem was he was a demon, one who was incredibly lustful, and fed of her lust. He wasn't meant to, but he adapted to it. She could tell as she neared her home that he was getting hungry, his grip tightening and his pace faster.
She entered her home and before the door could shut, she was pressed against the wall and overcome by his warmth. Lips in sync and hands over her body, his name being uttered in delight.
She woke to a warm bed, darkness making it harder to see. She smiled at the man who was lying on her chest, looking peaceful. His strong arms were round her waist, and her legs around his. She played with his hair for a moment before a thud made her flinch.
It came from downstairs and her blood ran cold. They hadn't closed the door. Another this came and this time, the creaks of her stairs reached her ears. Slow, like the person was trying to stop them from creaking.
She gently shook Hanuel, mumbling his name, trying to not alert the stranger that she was awake. A mumbled 'what' let her knew he was wakening.
"I.. I think someone's here. There's thuds and, and I can hear the stairs creaking."
She whispered quickly, and he shot up. Wide awake now. He stood in his boxers, and his tattoos in view. If she wasn't so scared, she would've been admiring them from many angles.
She followed behind him, a blanket held round her shoulders to protect her from the cold. He opened the door to find a female figure with a balaclava over her face. The only identifying features being the blue eyes.
"Get out, before I make you."
She knew after he fed, for a few hours, he'd be visible to anyone. The woman was startled and shook slightly, not moving.
"I said, get out— I don't care if your human needs food. Find a homeless shelter! She's got a knife for Christ sake Gareth!"
His attention had been turned to the space beside him. Obviously the guardian angel of the burglar. His fist flew out and blood suddenly dripped down the beige wall.
"Shit. Okay."
And with that, he knocked the strange woman out too.
"Han.. Hanuel! Have you killed them? Oh please don't say you have!"
"Don't worry. She's knocked out. I'll take her somewhere safe, the angel will automatically be with her so no need to worry about that. Go sleep"He kissed the top of her head and picked the woman up easily, suddenly vanishing.
His methods were violent, dramatic. He was a beast, but he was sweet and kind and his methods worked out usually. A true guardian. Of course, there would be a time where she'd have to leave him, her feelings forbidden. For now, that didn't have to happen, and she crawled into bed.

Hello! Another update! I hope this one was okay. I had an amazing idea but it would've been way too long for a short story. I still like this one.
Thank you for reading, I hope you've enjoyed!
