***Livi’s perspective***

I’ve never been to a detention before, and I never thought I’d be in one either! It’s not even my fault, it’s his! If he had of just told the class what I actually said, I wouldn’t be in this mess.

‘Get to know him, you might be surprised at the things you have in common’… yeah right dad, I got to know him, and now look where it’s landed me!

I approach a detention room, wondering if Jake’s already there, or if his ditching, and to my surprise he’s there, with his head down in what I make out to be a physics book, I swear the guys weird. He doesn’t worry about failing classes or getting detentions, and yet when he puts his mind to it, he’s really smart, and he even studies!

I sit across on the opposite side of the room to him, when I sit down, he glares across and winks, and does that little crooked smile, I hate the way he does that, it makes me feel venerable. It’s only the second day back, but my homework’s hit me like a tidal wave, so I guess I should use this time to my advantage… but it’s impossible! Every time I try and focus, my mind ends up drifting across to Jake, and all the stuff he said earlier about a party in his room, how disgusting!

Mr. Freemont is the head of detention, and I swear any minuet now the vomit boiling up in my throat is going to come out. Just his smell is enough to make a person run hard and fast in the other direction.

“I’ll be back shortly, not a word or I’ll be handing out double detentions” Freemont says, then leaves the room.

I hear Jake’s pen drop, and I know I’m in for some trouble.

Where the only ones here, mostly because it’s only the second day back, and most people don’t start messing up till a few weeks in.

He struts his way over to me, then sits right on top of my book on the desk. Is he serious?

“So I’m thinkin’ we just ditch while his gone, and go have some real fun together” Oh tell me he’s joking!

“And while we’re at it, let’s set fire to the school and dance on the roof as it burns down! Go back to your seat and shut up, I don’t know about you, but I don’t want another detention”, hopefully he doesn’t take the first thing I said too seriously.

“You may not want another detention, but I sure as hell wouldn’t mine spendin’ another few afternoons, just you and I, together in a room”

“What part of go back to your sear and shut up, don’t you understand!”

Footsteps are making there way back towards our room, and panic sticks in my gut, he better get back to his seat, other wise it’ll look like I wanted him to talk to me!

Just as the door opens, he bolts over to where he is suppose to be seated, and pretends nothing ever happened. Oh how I wish Mr. Freemont had of caught him in the middle of the room, I’d love nothing more then for him to spot Jake out of his seat, then watch as he gets his double detention, and I tell Freemont how I tried to tell him so park his ass, but he didn’t listen!

The hour passes, and we’re aloud to go home. Unfortunately for me, my day of being with Jake is still not over/

We both make our way out to my car with out a word, I’m just waiting for him to break the silence, there’s no way he can keep his big mouth shut.

“You no hunny, if I didn’t know any better, I’d say you were scared of getting’ into trouble!” I knew he wouldn’t be able to help himself. Me scared of trouble! Yeah right!

“And if I didn’t know any better, I’d bet that you were never taught respect back in Spain!”

Yeah I no, lame comeback, but it’s all I could come up with on the spot!

The car is silent all the way home, which I didn’t expect at all.

I pull up into my driveway, thankful that today has finally drawn to a close.

“Thanks for the lift, and helping me out today, I’m definitely going to have to make it up to you hunny, in ways you could only begin to imagine.”

“Get out of my car, and get lost” I say, walking straight into the house, leaving Jake in the driveway.

I have never, ever, meet someone to stuck up, obnoxious, self-centered, attention seeking and rude!
