Mercy's POV
A cold shiver runs up my spine as I freeze in my spot. I can almost feel the stare burning into the back of my neck. I take a deep breath and slowly reach to pull up the hoodie on my sweater.
A mischievous smile forms on my face as I get ready to bolt. I quickly fold up the paper in my hand and tug it into my pocket.
"Young man, please take your hood off and face me," Mr.Tucker demands.
Young man? Is he serious I'm wearing a back hoodie with bleached skinny jeans? Well all the better, he thinks I'm a guy. Looking down at my shoes, I pull down my sleeves to cover my hands and turn around slowly to face him.
Without turning on the classroom lights Mr.Tucker walks towards the desks. He casually leans on one near the middle of the classroom and repeats what he had said earlier.
"Take off your hoodie," he pauses for a second, "this situation will be much easier if you listen to my instructions."
Without turning my head up I glance in his direction. He's not wearing his usual glasses. No wonder he thinks I'm some dude.
I take a couple steps forward and stop, listening to if he was going get up. But he doesn't. I grin to myself as I clear my throat.
"You really should've worn your glasses Mr.T," I said.
As soon as I said that I run straight out the door and make a sharp turn to the left. My heart beats fast and heavy as I sprint towards the double doors in front of me.
With all my strength I push open the heavy doors and run up the stairs. Taking two steps at a time, I look back as I turn to the next set of stairs.
Just as I was turning I bump into a hard chest. The figure was tall and pretty buff. My heart beats fast as I think of a bunch of excuses.
"I'm so sorry girl but I'm on a run right now," the figure informs me.
His voice was deep and rough but not like a teacher's, more like a student. As I snap my head up to look at him my hoodie falls off. Leaving me face to face with Roman. Roman Sullivan.
The handsome but bad guy of our school. He never seems to get caught but when he does he gets out of it as easily as you can imagine.
I knew he was running away from a bad boy problem this time, so I had no choice than to warn him. I didn't want to get on his bad side.
Realizing I was staring at him I take a step backwards, only to feel air under my foot and not the floor. My hands fling to the side to find something to grip onto just as Roman catches me by my waist and pulls me up.
Leaving a sigh of relief and look up at him and smile nervously.
"Thank you, but there's a teacher running after me, so that way," I pause and point behind me, "is trouble."
He looks at me with wide eyes and nods. He grabs me by my wrist and pulls me towards the stairs he just came down from.
"Here follow me I know a good place to hide," he says his husky voice quiet.
As if I had a choice. He was pulling me by my wrist. Not having any other plan, I sprint up the stairs hand in hand with Roman, only 1 or 2 steps behind him. Both of us taking two stairs at a time.
Roman lets go of my wrists and push open the next set of double doors.
"Hurry," he whispers as I was behind a couple steps. Then he turns right into the next hallway.
Hurriedly, I run through the doors and turn right only to find an empty hallway.
Where did Roman go? Great as if he was gonna wait for some- just as I was cursing him in my mind, a hand grabs me and pulls me into the janitors closet beside me.
I look up to see Roman looking down at me only an inch between us.
"So hey, what's your name?" He asks wearing the grin he was famous for.
"Mercy," I return his grin, "Mercy Heisenberg."
