Could It Be?

Late Afternoon, the Guild Hall:

"I can't wait to see Lucy all dolled up!" squealed Mira. She cast a sidelong glance at Natsu. "Grey it's your job to make sure he doesn't leave before Lucy gets here!" she hissed.

Grey sighed. "How did I get dragged into this?"

Erza, sitting next to Grey, calmly stated, "Be happy you know as little as you do. If this does not work, you don't want Mira to think you were slacking."

Grey winced, thinking of Mira's legendary temper. It took a lot to trigger it but once triggered....let's just say that someone who could turn into a demon is a very scary person to be angry at you!

Mira tapped her foot impatiently. "Where is she?" she hissed at Erza.

"Levy and Juvia will be here with her any minute. Cancer was putting the final touches on her hair when I left."

The doors opened and Juvia and Levy stepped in, clearing their throats loudly. Mira jumped up, giggling and clapping as she saw Lucy follow them in.

"Wow, Lucy! You look fantastic!" Mira squealed. "Are you ready for your date?"

"I guess so," answered Lucy, walking carefully in the heels. All she needed to do was to fall flat on her face in front of everyone and ruin all the hard work her friends had done!

"You look great, Lucy!" Grey complimented.

"What? Juvia thought love rival was no more! Is Lucy love rival again even though she has boyfriend?" Juvia cried, clinging on to Grey.

"I just gave her a compliment! Geeze, Juvia! It doesn't mean I want to marry her or anything!"

"So Juvia has a chance?" Juvia sniffed, still clinging on to Grey.

Grey gave a loud sigh. "Help?" he begged, looking at Mira and Erza, who promptly ignored him.

Instead, they crowded around Lucy and chatted about her outfit, her hair, her shoes, her makeup....

Mira stole a glance over at Natsu. She frowned when she noticed he was slumped in his chair, looking up at the ceiling, a bored expression on his face.

"Hey Natsu!" Mira called over to him. "Doesn't Lucy look nice for her date?"

"Nice way to be direct," Erza muttered.

Natsu looked over at Lucy and shrugged. "She cleans up nice," he answered, shrugging.

Happy flew over to Lucy. "You look hot!" he laughed. "How come you don't dress up like that for Natsu?"

"Maybe because Natsu hasn't asked her out on a date!" Mira replied, hands on hip, glaring at Happy.

Lucy walked over to Natsu, worried about the expression on his face. It was not a good thing when Natsu got bored!

"You okay, Natsu?" she asked, sitting down across from him. "Can I get you anything?"

Natsu shrugged again. "I'm good. You go have fun, Luce. You deserve it," he told her.

"Okay...." she was about to say more when the Guild Door opened again and Hiro stood there. She looked back at Natsu, who was looking up at the ceiling again. "Um, I have to go," she said, standing up.

"Yeah. Go on your date."

"Okay." Lucy sighed, getting up. She smiled over at Hero, and was about to walk towards him, when she heard Natsu whisper something.

Her smile at Hiro was genuine, thinking of Natsu's words. "You do look really nice, Lucy."
