I woke up soon thereafter, and growled at the person I saw, Mason. I clenched my fists and noticed, as he seemed to be dead already. Joker nodded to me and held up a bloody dagger.
"This is one of the guys who killed Farie. I didn't like him, and he was a threat to us. I went ahead and killed him," Joker said.
I nodded, "That's one of the best things I've heard since I got here," I said, standing up, then stifling a laugh as Oijiro's head fell on the ground, "Morning Iji," I chuckled.
"Morning," he replied and got up. I watched as he walked towards the dead body, "They gave us another body to deal with?" He asked, and dragged it to the corner, where other dead bodies were. For some reason, this was a normal morning for us, but of murder, and nonchalant talk about it.
"Joker, I'm going to find a way to get you out of here, if none the rest of us," I said to Joker, he just laughed at me.
"If Anyone is getting out of here, it's you. You deserve it, you were the royal one after all," Joker said with his smile, I shook my head.
"Royal? Close. I'm a servant, like you, just one who served the royals, I graduated to Messenger. I was never total myself," I said, grabbing a flask and drinking out of it, not caring what was in it at this point.
"I exist," Iji said from his spot near the bodies. He had a couple books and multiple flasks of what I hoped was water.
"I know, now we should eat. Who knows what meal it's supposed to be, can't see the sun down here," I said, starting a meal. Eagle woke and ran to my feet, I chuckled and tossed the food into the pot, leaning down to pet the dog.
Later that night, I was wide awake, I was leaning on Joker as he slept, and Oijiro was resting on my arm, his hand on my left leg. I was listening to them breathe, since I couldn't sleep, Eagle in my lap as always.
Suddenly I heard Joker sigh out a name. I felt my eyes sting with tears as he spoke her name, "Farie..."
I felt the warm water flow down my face. What would his life have been like if I'd died instead of his beloved girl. Would he be living a happier life? If Farie hadn't perished, the group may have made their way to the end.
I wiped my eyes and thanked the world that I was alive. Maybe I was going slowly insane, with these two beside me, but it's better than going insane on my own.
I hugged the sleeping Oijiro into my lap, and then put Eagle into his. I then gripped onto Joker's arm, and I'd never felt more safe.In my sleep, my dream, I heard Iji crying. He held Eagle in his hands, as I looked at him, he spoke, "He-He died, I don't know who would do it, but there is a cut on his side!"
It took me a minute to realize.
One: that the cut, was the same as the one that caused the scar on my face.
Two: This was not a dream.
