It was horrible. That next day. I couldn't hold back my tears as I looked down at the sad puppy. And then I turned to the white sword on the ground. It had blood on the blade, and that blood wasn't just the dried blood that was mine.
"Excalibur! What the hell! If you're mad at me, kill me, not Eagle!" I yelled at the sword, tears running down my face. I watched as the messy, white haired, pasty skinned, boy appeared. He looked at me with tears in his eyes, obvious anger filling him.
"It's about time you realize I'm mad at you, you can deal without your dumb dog! You took my master away! My dad!" Exca yelled at me. I got my face close to his, looking down at him.
"Yeah? I took him because he took my girl. Would you rather me have him suffer?" I asked the short boy, growling in his face.
The short male turned his back to me, "Even still, Birdie," he clicked his tongue quietly, I almost couldn't hear it, "It's not like I could kill you. My blade is too damaged, from attacking you before. My mother used me for damage against someone she loved, cursed my blade. Now I can't kill, or even damage, anything other than animals. Not with my blade at least," he turned back to face me, his ragged white hair was all I could focus on.
"I'm guessing you're going to stay out just to annoy me?" I asked him, glaring down at his short figure.
"Not really, I'll be in and outta here, hope you don't mind, Birdie boy," he said and I picked him up by the front of his shirt, clutching it in my fist.
"Call me that again and I will break your face, okay?" I asked. He actually nodded, and I set him down, "only your dad was allowed to call me 'Birdie' that isn't going to change," I said. Going back to the wall and sitting down. My eyes watered.
"Birdie boy," I heard, and then Excalibur disappeared into the blade that he came from. I growled.
"I hate him," I said, Joker pat my head.
"Maybe now, but he can't do anything else. Eagle was the only animal companion we had..." Joker said, his eyes were slightly pink. This guy, he had held is tears back.
"Eagle is in a good place now!" Oijiro said, trying to lighten the mood, "Yeah I can't be a loli boy, I think I'll go back to being perverted," he chuckled and went to a mirror. I watched him look at himself and take off his eyepatch. He gasped.
I stood and ran over to him, looking at his other eye, my eyes widened, how hadn't he noticed this. There was a note, paper, seemingly tied to the back of his eyepatch. His eyes was covered up only due to a couple scratches. I needed that eyepatch more than him.
"I can't read..." Oijiro said, I raised an eyebrow.
"Must be fate that you are here then, I used to be a royal Messenger, I can read better than most of the people in this blasted country," I took the note from the hand he held out to me. I read the letter out loud,
   Dear Oijiro,
I got told your memories would be erased and you'd be sent away. I cried a lot, little bro. But, before they took you away, I slipped this note under your eyepatch. It not much, but I hope you can at least remember your pointy toothed big brother. Hopefully, I will see you someday.
                                                     -Mion
"What does this mean? I have a brother? I don't remember him at all!" Oijiro fell to the ground, "I have someone out there worrying for me... I've got to get back to him somehow!"
And somehow I knew, it wasn't likely that would happen. Not now. Not soon. Not eventually. Probably, not ever.
