Saddest Day Ever

Thursday 23rd July 2002, the saddest day ever. And because of it, I have nightmares, even to this day. This is where the story starts.

It was a hot night. I kept tossing and turning every few minutes. I couldn't get comfy. The dream I was having was terrible. I had been tied to an old wooden chair and I had my mouth covered by something sticky.

I was in my living room. I could see opposite me, my Mum, Dad, and my dog, Twinkles. They were all tied up like me. They were trying to escape, so I did the same. We were all trying to rock the chair, except from the dog. Twinkle was just sitting there, like she was sleeping.

Then a man dressed in all black came strutting in with a silvery object in his right hand. He had a mask over his head so I couldn't make out his face. He stood behind my parents and ripped off the tape by my mother's mouth.

Man: Don't scream, otherwise I will kill her too.

He said that pointing at me. My Mum nodded.

Man: Any final last words to your precious daughter?

Mandy: Darling, listen to me. I love you so much. You are such a bright girl and I know you will grow up to become so beautiful and talented. Even if Me and your father aren't around, we will always be in your heart. And you will always be in ours. I love you baby girl.

My Mum had started crying, so I started crying. Then the next minute the man had shoved the silvery object into my Mum's back. He did it multiple times. I know he was killing her, but I couldn't do anything. I was stuck transfixed watching my Mum being killed. He then raised his left hand which he held a gun. He put it to my Mums head and shot it. I closed my eyes and started crying.

When I opened them again he was standing by my Dad. I took a glance at my Mum. She was covered in blood and laying still exactly like Twinkles. I realised then that Twinkles was also dead. As tears flooded out of my eyes, the man ripped the tape from my dad's mouth.

Man: Let's hear your final words, Martin.

Martin: Ally dear. I love you. You are and always will be Daddy's little girl. Now just remember if you feel like everything is wrong, I will always be up in heaven to help you. I can't wait to watch you from up there, grow up into a beautiful young women who has so much potential. Daddy Loves you Ally. And so does Mummy.

The man did the same thing that he did to my Mum. I closed my eyes again. I was so sad. Then the man looked at me, he walked over and crouched down so he was level with me.

Man: Poor Little girl. Your parents and dog is dead. I'm not going to hurt you or kill you and your brother up in Scotland will be safe too. Your parents ruined mine and my childhood, so I had to repay the favour.  Now be a good girl and keep your mouth shut and go straight back up to bed, you understand?

I nodded slightly. He then untied me and took the tape off my mouth. I got up and ran to my room. I shut my door and got back into bed.

_ _ _ _ _

I woke up screaming. I was sweating all over. It was dark in my room except from my little night light. I had just had a nightmare. I got up and out of bed and turned my light on. I looked around for Twinkles. She normally slept with me. I opened my door and walked into my parents bedroom, to see if I could sleep with them.

But they weren't in there. Maybe they were still downstairs watching tv. I walked down the stairs and walked straight into the living room. I stood there frozen. My Mum, my Dad and Twinkles were all there dead. They were covered in blood. My dream wasn't just a dream. It was real. I started crying silently. I walked over to the chairs my Mum and Dad were sat on and laid across their dead bodies. I cried my self to sleep.

The next morning I was woken up to noise and footsteps. I shot up. People had just broke down the front door and was walking towards me and my family. My eyes were all red where I had been crying. A man with a funny hat on and a shiny badge came over and crouched down next to me.

Man: Hey there, little one. Did you do this?

I shook my head. Tears started coming down my checks. He lifted me up and handed me to a women, with long brown hair and she was quite small.

Women: Let's get you cleaned up, eh?

The women took me upstairs and I pointed to my room. Once we were in there she got me some clean clothes out of my wardrobe and clean underwear. She then took my hand and she took me into the bathroom. She ran a bath and I got in it. She stayed with me, and she started cleaning me.

Woman: So little girl, what's your name? Mine is Anne.

Ally: I'm Ally.

Anne: Well Ally. I must say, you are a very brave and strong girl.

Ally: No I'm not.

Anne: Oh you are though. And very beautiful.

I gave Anne a little smile. But I didn't want Anne to bath me, I wanted my Mum and Dad to bath me.

Ally: I want my Mummy and Daddy back.

Anne: Ally. It must be so hard. But I'm afraid you can't. They have gone to heaven. A much better place than here.

Ally: Can I go to heaven, Anne?

Anne: Not yet.
