Fairy Tail - Mating Season

Nalu (Day 1)

Lucy

Everyone quietly left the room, waiting out in the large hall. 

Rogue opened the door to the room where all the other dragon slayers, Erza and Gray were in, saying, "You can go out and meet your mates now! They are now aware of the situation."

Gray was the first one to come out. As he did, he nearly knocked over Rogue! Lucy was surprised to see his aggressiveness. More surprised for that aggression to vanish as he somewhat timidly approached Juvia.

Juvia was red in the face and looked nervous, fidgeting restlessly.

Then Gajeel, Erza, Sting, Wendy, Erik (or was he still called Cobra?) and Natsu came out, looking around for their respective mates and heading toward them in a nervous, awkward and slow manner.

As Natsu began approaching Lucy, Lucy had no idea what to do. It was as if time had slowed down. Lucy tensed all over. She was nervous. She didn't know how to approach the situation or what to say or what to do. How was she supposed to react? 

Lucy didn't know how she felt for Natsu anymore. 

Sometimes, she was extremely angry and upset at Natsu. Natsu, the most idiotic and stupidest person there was! Then there was times where she could look up to Natsu, a powerful and caring person. Natsu, someone she could trust. He was always there when she needed her, saving her countless times over and over again. Lucy loved Natsu.

But the question Lucy truly wished she knew the answer to was: Did she love Natsu like a best friend, brother or as a romantic partner?

Lucy had never truly thought about any feelings she had about Natsu. There were times when the girls and even the guys had teased Lucy about Natsu, but she had never taken any of them seriously.

Now, she was apparently Natsu's mate. He loved her in a romantic way, even if he hadn't known it himself.

It was all coming to her at once. Everything was so heavy that it felt like Lucy would get crushed under it all. It had all come so fast and sudden. Suddenly Lucy had to make choices that could change her life forever, in a good way or bad way. Instead of getting ready in her own time, with her choices, she was suddenly being forced to makes choices. Choices she felt she didn't have enough time to make.

"Hey, Lucy." Natsu called. Suddenly, Natsu was in front of Lucy. Lucy tensed all over.

"Wh-Wh... Wha-What is it?" She asked, stuttering terribly. Ugh! This is terrible! 

"I'm hungry!" Natsu cried out suddenly. He grabbed my shoulders, looking Lucy straight in the eyes, his face dangerously close to hers.

Lucy shrieked, slapping Natsu.

"Ow!" Natsu yelped, backing away. Realizing what he had done, he gave Lucy a remorseful look. "I'm sorry, Lucy! I'm just hungry! I didn't mean to upset you!" He whined.

Lucy blushed. Natsu was so adorable! She shook his head, mentally shrieking. This isn't like Natsu at all! 

Lucy was not used to such a... weird Natsu.

Lucy was also somewhat annoyed at Natsu. Lucy was here, barely in control and freaking out. Then there was Natsu! Dense as always without a single care in the world.

"So... Lucy. Can we eat somewhere?" Natsu asked again, giving her puppy-dog eyes.

Lucy couldn't refuse. Not with the way Natsu was looking at her. Lucy forced herself to calm down, getting her thoughts in place. Natsu wasn't being himself, but Lucy could work with that. Maybe if she spent more time with Natsu, like they always did, she'd be able to find out what her true feelings for Natsu were.

The good thing about Natsu is that because of his stupidness and denseness was that nothing was awkward. Nervous, but not awkward.

Lucy gave Natsu a small smile, nodding. "Sure."
