A couple months has passed since when Rye and I made the bet.

My feelings for Zoey keeps growing stronger everyday.

Her boyfriend is still in the picture. Their relationship is rocky right now though.

"Z-Zoey?" I asked.

We were at her house, in bed.

"Yeah?"
"How are you and Nate?"

She shifted.
"W-we broke up."

I heard her sniffle.

I couldn't help but feel happy inside.

"I'm so sorry, Zoe."
"Eh," she wiped her eyes. "It's not your fault. It was about time we broke up though. He-he hurt me."
"Physically?"
"Emotionally."

I hugged her.

"I'll keep you safe."
She smiled and looked into my eyes.
"I know."
I smiled.

The moonlight from the night sky made her eyes sparkle. My heart felt like it skipped a beat. I wanted to pull her closer and kiss her, but it would be wrong. She's still heartbroken.

I will fix you, Zoey.
