After a couple of hours, it’s 5:00, and I’m completely and utterly bored. Will left for work; which I don’t know what he does, Hailey and her boyfriend are at that lake; allegedly. I’m pretty sure Ryder’s up in his room. Jacob and Asher went to hang out with their girlfriends-they told me I could come; but I wasn’t really in the mood to be a fifth wheel, so I gracefully declined. And as for Todd, well I don’t know where he is. But I’m in the living room, curled up on the couch watching Twilight. It was on one of plethora of movie channels; so I decided to watch it. My phone vibrates on the coffee table and I lean down; picking it up. The Caller I.D. says, ‘Chenal Resorts’. I don’t know where that is, but I answer it anyway.

          “Hello?”

          “Hi McKenna.” Phil says.

“Oh hi Phil, so Chenal Resorts is the resort y’all are staying at?”

          “How’d ya know?” He wonders.

          “Caller I.D.” I state simply.

“Right, well we just got here. Your mom was gonna call you, but she was so exhausted from the flight, and she’s taking a nap.”

“Oh okay. Well tell her I said hi once she wakes up.”

          “Will do.” He asks.

“Is that McKenna?” I hear my mom ask in the background.

“Yeah it is. Hold on McKenna, here’s your mom.”

          “Hi honey.” She says.

          “Hey mom.”

          “How are you?”

          “I’m okay; I’m a little damp, but I’m good.”

          “Damp?” She repeats.

“Long story, but it’s irrelevant.” I say.

“So have you had the chance to reconnect with everyone?”

          “Oh yeah, totally.”

          “And?”

          “And what?”

“And how’s that working for you?” She wonders.

“Oh, it’s…okay I guess. Ryder’s still a jerk, William looks way different, Hailey’s still annoying, but aside from that, everything is just as I remember.” I tell her.

“Well that’s good. Well I’m gonna have to go. Have to get unpacking.”

          “Okay, bye.”

“Bye.” She says, hanging up the phone.

I toss my phone next to me on the couch, as I turn the movie up. “McKenna?” Sarah calls.

“Yes?” I reply, turning to look at her.

“Ricky and I are getting ready to head to the store. Do you need anything?”

I think about it for a second, before deciding I don’t. “No I don’t; thanks though.” I say.

“Of course.” She says, smiling as she and Uncle Ricky leave out of the front door.
