There's balloons and candy everywhere. Everyone one is having fun and playing games, yet Lillian isn't having fun at all. It was her birthday but, all she wanted was for her grandmother to be there. Her grandmother had promised her that she would be there for the party, but she wasn't. It wasn't really a surprise to Lillian, her grandmother was always busy running her company and going on adventures. But this was the first time her grandmother had promised anything, so she was hoping with all her heart that she would be there, even if it was just for a minute. Hours had passed and the party had ended. Lillian's mother was trying her best to cheer her up," Lillian darling, I'm sure something just came up suddenly or maybe the traffic is keeping her." "No mom, she's not coming. Even though she promised, she still couldn't make it." Said Lillian. A few more minutes of her mother trying to cheer her up and then, there was a knock at the door. Lillian sprung to her feet and ran to the door, it was her grandmother. She had actually made it. But then Lillian noticed her grandmother was holing a strange book. "What's that grandmother?" Asked Lillian. "Oh, it's the present I got for you. It's the reason why I was so late too." Grandmother handed Lillian the book, and Lillian just looked it over strangely. "Where's the title? It just has designs all over it." Lillian just made a confused look as her grandmother explained that it didn't need a title, you just need to open the book. "Well, thank you grandmother. Even though it's a bit strange, I still love it because it reminds me of you!" Lillian's grandmother stayed for a while, but then she just left. Her mother just fell asleep on the couch, so Lillian went to her room to look at this strange new book her grandmother had gotten her.
