Whisper

Chapter 3

Both girls walked into the changing rooms to change into their uniform for gym. Their uniform was specially made for fighting, the suit was black reaching from neck to wrists to ankles. Although they were black each person's uniform was different as the arms, legs and belt around the middle was made of a different colour material that best matched their gifts. Carson's had bright yellow trimming, Fred's was a brownish green and Felicity's was silver. Once the two girls got changed they walked into the main gym area to meet Fred and Blade, Blade didn't have a uniform yet so he was wearing a simple gym outfit, which Felicity couldn’t help but notice how good he looked in it. 

Their gym teacher, Mr Moorone, let out a loud shrill whistle to get the student's attention. Once everyone was gathered around him he began talking, "Good morning class, we have a new student today so how about we demonstrate our gifts"

The class let out a loud cheer, they loved fighting. Although there were some whose gifts were more defensive rather than offensive, this meant they had to use muscle to beat their opponent. Felicity sat quietly silently hoping she didn’t have to face any of the fire users, they fought dirty.

Unfortunately the universe wasn’t being very kind and Felicity ended up being paired off with Grayson, the meanest of fire users. Slowly Felicity stood up in front of the class and faced a smug faced Grayson; although he was smirking Felicity noticed the small bit of fear showing in his eyes. It was always like this when someone was fighting her, many people were scared of the power of Felicity's gift.

"Alright you two know the rules" Mr Moorone shouted as if the class were deaf, "On the count of three. One... two..three" the whistle blew.

Felicity looked Grayson dead in the eye and opened her senses up to the energy around her. Grayson narrowed his eyes as a small flame flicked up from the tips of his fingers, with a flick of his wrist Grayson sent a surge of fire right towards Felicity's face. As the fire came pummelling towards Felicity pulled the energy around her to create an invisible wall, the fire hit the wall and fanned out like mud hitting a window.

Grayson grouched down looking like he was ready to send another blast but out the corner of her eye Felicity saw a basket ball sitting in the corner of the gym. With little more than a wave of her hand Felicity sent the ball flying towards the boy. As the huge force of the ball hit Grayson in the back of the head, he fell to the ground. The teacher was about to call out when Grayson set the gym floor ablaze, the wall of fire heading straight for Felicity. She had barely jumped out of the way before she sent a wave of energy towards Grayson, lifting him up in the air and spinning him around. Grayson was barely able to create a flicker of flame due to the force of energy pulsating around his body. Felicity kept Grayson suspended in the air as the teacher called Felicity the winner of the fight.

"Woohoo, damn girl your good" Carson congratulated Felicity as she sat down.

Blade turned to face Felicity with a shocked look on his face, "What exactly is your gift?" he asked

"Telekinesis, I can manipulate the kinetic energy around me and move objects with my mind"

Carson was about to say something when the teacher let out another whistle, "Next up" his booming voice sounded around the gym, "Is Fred and Luka"

Hearing this Fred groaned, everyone knew he didn’t like fighting, Luka on the other hand paled and looked queasy.

"Come on Fred you can do it" Carson cheered Fred on as he stood to face his opponent.

The whistle sounded signalling the start of the fight. Although he was standing faraway Luka got the first hit, his arms growing longer and longer and tying themselves around Fred's body. The whole time Luka made sure he was at a far enough distance away from Fred. Upon realising this Fred pulled Luka closer to him.
