Marshall Lees POV;
Class passed slowly. I didn't pay much attention as Mr. Peppermint spewed out continuous words that I frankly didn't care about.
I leaned back in my seat, tipping it back just a bit and look up at the ceiling.
Fionna. I had seen her on campus before. Always wearing the same hat, always around the same people. She was quite pretty, prettier then half of the other girls at this school. I scoffed.
At the bell, I quickly stood up and turned to plop down on my forearms on Fionnas desk.
She shoved a book in her bag and gasped at me, startled. "Can I help you?" She asked.
I twisted the tooth pick that I had in my mouth over to the other side. "Let's hang out after school."
She raised her brows at me, "Sorry I have plans."
"With who," I nodded at Flame. "Him?" A smirk grew on my face as I raised a brow, "you two dating?" My eyes shifted over to Flame who busted out into a bright red blush.
"No, of course not." He said quickly. "Just friends."
I returned my gaze to a slightly pink cheeked Fionna, "then why can't you?" My voice was low, a devilish whisper. "You scared?"
She gulped quickly and slung her bag over her shoulder, standing straight up and looking at me. I looked up at her under my lashes.
"I am not scared of you, Marshall Lee." The way my name escaped her lips sent a shiver sensation down my back. I liked it.
I stood up next to her, towering over her. I took a step closer to her, closing the space between us and bending down a bit so our faces were closer, "then why not?"
She pushed me back a little bit and sighed heavily. "Fine! My last class is in the far quad. Meet me at room 306 right after bell, and don't be late or I'm leaving." She growled and scurried out of the room.
I turned and watched her leave, taking the tooth pick out of my mouth and tossing it on the floor with a satisfied smile on my face.
She was adorable when she was mad. She was adorable period. I don't think i had ever called an underclassman anything but bad things. I guess there was always a first.
I ran a hand through my cole black hair, pushing it off to the side and noticed Flame was still standing near me, his mouth agap.
"What's up, Flame?" I asked, turning to him and adjusting my bag over my shoulder.
"Did she just agree to a date?" He asked, his eyes still following her out if the room, even though she was long gone.
So I was right, they might not be dating but he was definitely interested. Poor guy.
I set a hand on his shoulder and gave him a sympathetic smile, "time to make your way out of the friend zone, man. She said yes to me, who says she would say no to you?" I raised my brows.
I wasn't sure why I helped him, but I did. I guess I felt bad for him. The poor guy looked like a puppy who was lost in the forest when it was raining.
He puffed his chest out and smiled confidently at me. "I'm going to do this." He said, more to himself then to me. Then he marched off.
And with a sigh, I followed suit, making my way to my next class.
