Do You Miss It?

Spring was finally coming into play, meaning Dark's dominance would increase and his strange cravings that are very similar to a pregnant woman's would disappear. But today wasn't a day for cooking, or cleaning, or working, or even reading. On a sweet and serene Saturday like this, nothing could beat the fantastic simplicity of cuddling with your lover. Plus it was raining, and as much as Google and his waterproof figure enjoyed it, it wasn't warm enough to enjoy it with the demon. So all he did was simply stare out the window, contemplating anything and everything as Dark held him from behind, a gray arm cast upon the robot's waist and a face gently burrowed into his back. Although his vision was severely blurred without his glasses, he could picture the rain quite clearly. The neighboring houses and overcast sky blended together in his sight, creating rather bland colors, but nothing he didn't enjoy. The AI inhaled and a soft sigh exit his mouth. In his thoughts, a question suddenly came to mind.

Without turning around, Google spoke. "Dark? Are you awake?"

Val wanted to respond with, 'No, G, I'm sleeping.' But judging from the robot's calm yet serious tone, he went against that decision. "Yes, my love. Why?" He inquired, lifting his head from G's back and propping himself on his elbow. As Dark shimmied away, Google changed his position and sat up with his legs crossed, one hand reaching towards the nightstand to retrieve his glasses and the other pushing his hair back, which was lengthier than his beloved's.

The bot closed his eyes as he moved, not opening them until his glasses had been slipped onto his face. His royal-electric blue iris' meeting with Dark's relaxed yet fiery crimson ones. "I was just thinking about you and I began to wonder... Do you miss it? Down there, I mean."

Valac's head tilted as he gave Google an expression that contained a small amount of confusion. "Do I miss it down there? You mean Hell?" He repeated G's inquiry and followed it with another question to confirm his suspicions.

G nodded and opened his mouth to explain. "I know you speak of the void occasionally, but you never really mention the dwelling of where you were spawned in the first place." His immediate thought was Abraxas and Sitri, and he almost dared to bring them up, since they, too, were both demons. But the first name, which belonged to a purely vile, twisted, distorted monster, never did anything for Val except bring bad memories and breakdowns. Meanwhile the second was simply a cursed name that Dark had tortured until brutally killing him. So of course G pushed the thought back. "It just makes me wonder if you miss it there or not." He added.

With a moment of silence, plus a quiet sigh, Dark also sat up, pushing his hair back just like G did and leaned against the wall, making and breaking eye contact with his love as he spoke and used small hand motions. "To tell you the truth, love, I have no reason to miss it. If I really did, I could visit Hell whenever I pleased. However, there's no one for me to see, and Earth is much more interesting, so in the end, there's not a point in going back." Val elucidated, his arms crossing as he finished speaking, contently watching Google.

"Is that so?" G's brow furrowed as he stared downwards at the sheets, then turned his head to gaze out the window once more, this time with proper sight. His face was heavy with an expression that clearly showed he was deep in thought yet again.

Dark lightly pushed himself off the wall and inched towards G, placing a hand upon the robot's back and gingerly rubbing him. "I can tell you have something on your mind, my love. What are you thinking?"

After a moment or two passed by, Google turned his head to Dark and fixed his look on Dark, as if studying him. Then he threw a question at Dark that was terribly shocking, almost blasphemous, to his ears. "If you're happy here on earth, that's means you're happy here with me, right?" Despite his unperturbed composure, there was concern, worry, hidden beneath it.

"Google, of course I am." He blurted automatically, taking his boyfriends hand and holding it with that tight reassurance, a familiar feeling that never failed to partially bring the robot to ease. "Where in the world is this coming from?" He gently asked. The demon didn't enjoy it when G asked such questions. Last time he did this, during the kayak trip with Mark and Jack, it led to many tears and the harsh realization of the future reality.

A small smile was offered to the demon before it vanished as quick as it appeared. "Nowhere, exactly. I was just thinking. One thought led to another and I suppose it all just came from my-"

Dark chipped in the sentence, "Your curiosity?"

A chuckle came from the robot, along with a nod. "Yes, how did you know?" He jokingly replied. A silence fell upon them before G continued to talk. "I suppose I can't help but to have a reoccurring amazement at the fact that out of anyone, in your long, long lifespan, you chose a home assistant." Another chuckle came from the bot, but it was more a scoff, humorless and empty sounding. Nothing but a noise to add to his dreary words.

A negative shake, small enough to hardly swish his hair, came from Val's head before cupping Google's face, forcing their eyes meet as the demon was about to give a short speech. "Google, you're not just a home assistant. I'd be damned if I didn't say that you're practically far from that label. You're a wonderful friend, a diligent worker, a perfect boyfriend, and I bet you're a great brother, regardless of the fact that I haven't even met your brothers yet. All in all, my love, you're a fascinating being with more passion and love than anyone I have ever come across, and I'm 1297 years old!" He paused before continuing, his thumbs gently caressing the robot's synthetic cheeks. "There will never be a day when I don't love you, Hae'wa. No matter the universe or reality, as you often say, I will always love you. You have given me and taught me the pure definition of love. You have presented to me, a literal creation of evil, all these magnificent things that I doubt I could ever repay you for and you still question why I love you so damn much?" The archdemon lightly laughed and shook his head for the second time. "I know what you were built for, G. But that doesn't matter. You are real. Your emotions, your thoughts, everything. It doesn't matter if it's programmed. It's as real as real can be." To finish off his flood of benevolence, Valac planted a heartfelt kiss upon G's lips, pouring an honest affection into it, as if this action solidified the truth within the demon's words. The number of times Dark has done this and would have to do this never bothered him. If he had to remind the android hundreds of thousands of times, then so be it. Anything to get it through that thick, metallic skull of his.

Whenever Dark did speeches like this, it never ceased to throw G off guard and melt the layers of trouble and stress. They were like flint and steel being stricken together, sending sparks flying towards his gasoline of uncertainty and setting them ablaze, roaring fiercely with utmost power, until they settled and left behind an empty, hot ground. That exact feeling was bubbling within G, causing warm imitation tears to flow freely from his eyes and down his cheeks. He removed his glasses to cover his face, quietly sniffling as he cried.

Dark automatically hugged his robot lover, embracing him tightly and soothingly rubbing his back. "Please don't cry, Hae'wa. I hate seeing you so sad like this." He softly kisses the side of G's head and continued to hug him, only moving when Google shifted to hug him in return.

"I-I'm sorry, my l-love..." He sniffled, hiccuping on his words due to his tears. "I just love you s-so much..." The AI remained silent for awhile, gradually calming down as Dark's loving hold never faltered. At last, he sighed and wiped his tear stained cheeks, one last sniffle leaving his nose. "You always know what to say, my king." He gave his beloved a stronger smile, one that lingered for longer, too. "Thank you for handling me so well when my pondering gets the best of me. I honestly don't know what I'd do without you."

Dark places another kiss onto G's lips. "You and me both, my dear. I wouldn't want a life, or any life for that matter, without you." The archdemon pulled Google close to him, wrapping his arms around the figure of the bot to hug him and love him affectionately.

In due time, both males slipped under the covers, returning to their starting positions. The AI stared at the rainy outside for a few minutes longer, before his boyfriend's warmth slowly lulled him into rest mode. "I love you, my darkling..." He whispered, before the whirring of his system quieted down to a nearly inaudible level of volume.

One last kiss to G was set on the nape of his neck. "I love you, too, Hae'wa.." The demon murmured in return before joining his most loved in a calm and peaceful slumber.
