Lily's POV
It's been six months since Mason and I broke up. I can't believe I'm saying this, but I think moved on...unfortunately, I've moved on to someone from the past. Me and Savannah have been hanging out a lot going to Frat parties and such. Although we were surrounded by guys all the time...the only guy I could think of was already taken...taken by my own best friend, Savannah. I know what you're thinking, I hate me too. Ever since me and Mason broke up, Dave and Savannah have been hanging out more often. So much to the point that they can't keep their hands off of each other. Seeing the way Dave treats Savannah like a princess reminds me of the times when we were younger...when I used to be his princess.
FLASHBACK
My parents planned my 7th birthday party for me the day after my birthday, since no one would show up on a Thursday. Dave demanded his parents to take him to my house after school because he really wanted to give me his gift.
"Lily!!! Davey's here!", my mom shouted downstairs. I ran down the stairs to the sight of Dave in a suit . I ran to him and gave him a hug. "Happy Birthday Princess!!!", Dave said smiling with his two front teeth missing. "Thanks Davey!", I said squeezing him tight. "Okay, I have to make this fast because my mommy is waiting in the car, but I promise it'll be worth it" Dave said pulling out a crumbled piece of paper out of his pocket. He cleared his throat and held my hand, looking me in the eye.
"Lily, my princess, my sunshine, thank you for always kissing my booboo's when I fall down, thank you for giving me the last juice box when you could have had it, thank you for always greeting me with your beautiful smile along with a tight hug, thank you for teaching me how to be a good hugger. One day, when we grow older, and we get married, I promise to teach our kids how to be a good hugger, and how to be kind just like you. Happy Birthday Lily, I love you so much!", Dave said folding back the paper and handing it to me. Before I could say anything, Dave's mom honked the horn, "Lils, before I go, I want to give you this", he says, handing me a ring pop. "Can I have a kiss on the cheek?", Dave asked with a huge smirk on his face moving his head so I can kiss his cheek. I reached in and he turned his head last minute, kissing me on the lips. "DAVEY!! You just took my first kiss!", I said trying to stay serious. Dave walked back to his mom with a huge smile on his face. "Well... thanks for the gift!", I shouted putting on the ring pop.
END OF FLASHBACK
Savannah and I were getting ready to go to a family BBQ at Dave's house. I wasn't feeling it, so I grabbed whatever I could find which was a pair of white shorts and a navy blue off the shoulder top.
"I'm so nervous, this is the first time I'm meeting Dave's family", Savannah said with a nervous voice. "Trust me, you'll be fine, they're like my second family", I said with a reassuring voice. "I've known Dave's family since I was little because his dad was my dad's best friend. " "Ughhh why didn't you tell me this in the beginning! I used to get so jealous cause you and Dave seemed so close!", said Savannah. "Ewww, no there's nothing to be jealous about....he's like....like a brother to me!", I said, little does she know it hurts me whenever I see them together.
"Alright, we should get going" I told Savannah. "Mmkay", Savannah said checking herself out in the mirror one last time. We got into the car and started jamming out. It helped deal with the horrible LA traffic. About an hour later, we finally got to Dave's house. I knocked on their door and Dave's mom opened the door. "Oh Lily! I've missed you so much! How come you haven't visited in a while? Please don't tell me you and Davey aren't friends no more!", Betsy said, not letting go of me. "Hey Mama Bear! No it's just-", I said being interrupted by James. "Ohhhh come on Mom, how can she not be friends with Davey, they were inseparable, I'm surprised they're not going out", James said winking at me. I rolled my eyes at him and he had that big stupid smile he always does, walking back to the back yard. "And who is this young lady? Are you Savannah?", Betsy asked. "Yeah", Savannah said kinda jealous at what James just said. "My son talks about you all the time sweet heart, I'd love to get to know you more, come on let's go in, sorry the rest of em' couldn't make it, they're all doing their own thing", Betsy said leading us to the backyard.
