Celeste Dizznee

From the thoughts and feelings of Celeste Dizznee, Present Day

Let me get this straight: I. Do. Not. Do. Romance.

I have no interest or desire to pursue a relationship with anyone. It's too much work, I'd rather stick to my tools and my machines.

Rosemary is the one who's all, "OH MY PRINCE, PLEASE, TAKE ME AWAY ON YOUR WHITE HORSE! OH ALEXANDER! MY TRUEST OF LOVES!" as she gets all starry eyed and swoon-y. Sometimes we have to remind her to breathe.

...okay, that's not entirely true, but sometimes it feels that way. She HAS, however, called him her prince, but that was only when she was tipsy on New Years, which, in itself, was surprising. Rose usually looks out for the kids on New Years with the guy she doesn't know is her future husband.

Anyways, just to clarify: Rosemary = Romantic, Celeste = Nooooooooooooooooooooo way. Not over my dead body. There's no way in gnome I'm ever going to fall in love. I'm not going to have weak knees like Alexander, I'm not going to hopelessly stare at anyone. It's just going to be me, my friends, my family, and my robots. That's all you need really. Yourself, Friends, Family, Robots. YFFR. Perfect. Nothing more, nothing less. Organized, tidy. Concise, important. Just the way I like it.

A public and well known list of reasons why Celeste Dizznee doesn't want to date anyone, from fifteen years ago...

1. Remembering anniversaries
2. Kissing (EW)
3. Babies (double EW)
4. Less time with robots
5. Rose can't be there to hang out
6. Love is weird
7. You have to go out and actually do stuff with someone
8. You have to wear pants around the house, even in the summer
9. Less time for projects
10. Everyone will ask you when you're getting married
11. Marriage
12. Life is long, why spend it attached to only one person who could hurt your heart one day when you can just spend it with the people that matter. Friends, family, robots, and your twin.

A list of reasons to maybe date someone found in the depths of a diary by Celeste Dizznee, TOP SECRET, from three years ago...

1. Never bored (intellectual banter)
2. Someone to rely on
3. Less dishes
4. No third wheeling with the love birds (Rosemary and Alexander)
5. Someone to trick into doing laundry
6. Someone to talk robots with
7. Someone who understands robots
8. Someone to stay out late dancing with (Rose is a lightweight and Alexander always takes her home early)
9. Someone to make fun of constantly (in a loving way)
10. Someone to hold me
11. Someone to share my innermost thoughts with
12. Someone to look at me the way Alexander looks at Rose/dad looks at mom and vice versa
13. Life is long, and as everyone else around you gets a little older and their interests differ from yours, it can get a little lonely
