(I need to stop re-uploading chapters from other places. I'm sorry)

If you keep up with my shit-post book, you may have stumbled across a short story called "Everything is alright." about two girls, Kora and Clementine, who are both part of the LGBTQ+ community. If you haven't read that, go check it out, it's not that hard to use the chapter thingy to skip to it. (That sounded mean, I'm sorry, I love and appreciate you) Anyway, this is going to be a continuation of their story told from Kora's point of view.

I pressed my foot against the brake slowly, easing closer to the curb. The ground outside was covered in snow, the sky above dotted with bright, dying stars. Clementine smiled at me and zipped up her fluffy coat before opening the passenger door and sliding out into the snow with a small crunch as her boots sunk into it.

She turned around, her dark hair bouncing playfully above her shoulders, waving at me to follow her. "Come on, Kor." She said with a grin.

I smiled and held up a finger before pulling the keys out of the ignition. I opened my door and hopped out, following her down the trail that overlooked the river.

It was late, and nobody else was out. The emptiness of the area added to the purity of the freshly fallen snow made the place seem safe. I glanced ahead of me at the back of Clem's white coat. With everything around her, she looked like the star of a painting, all of the beautifully detailed things around her pointing to her in the center.

I shoved my hand in my pocket, tracing the felt corners of the small box. A small sigh of relief escaped my lips, puffing out in front of me in a tiny cloud.

I hurried forward until I was walking next to Clementine. She looked up at me as I got closer, her dark eyes a nice addition to her soft, caramel skin. She smiled widely and reached her hand out towards mine. I gripped her hand tightly and we walked in comfortable silence up the path.

A few minutes later, we were sat on a bench placed in a spot where you could see the river perfectly. The city lights on either side of the river reflected on it, bouncing along with the freezing water.

Clem pulled her knees up to her chest and leaned her head against my shoulder. I wrapped my arm around her and pulled her close, grateful for the warmth.

"Can you believe that it's been two years?" She mumbled into my coat. "That's a long time."

I laughed at her and ran my hand through her hair. "Well, yeah. But it's been a really great two years." She shifted and looked up at me with a smile.

"I love you, Kor."

"I love you too, Clem.”

She grabbed my hand and leaned against me again. We sat in serene silence for a time, the lights of the sky and the city bouncing off of the snow and the water below us.

I took a deep, shaky breathe. Nothing was stopping me from doing this but my own anxiety. I fought with myself in my head for a minute or two, trying to calm myself down before realizing that there was no calm way to do this.

"Fuck it." I mumbled.

Clementine yelped in surprise as I moved, twisting to where I was facing her better. She turned around to look at me, opening her mouth to say something before I quickly shushed her.

"Clementine Edwards. Clem. You'll never fully understand what you mean to me. You've been there for me for what feels like forever. You've held me together in some pretty tough times." Clem gasped loudly as I pulled the box out of my coat pocket. "I know that it's going to be hard for us, but as long as we have each other, we can do anything. We can take on the world." I got off of the bench and knelt in front of her, opening the lid of the small box. "So, Clem,"

Her eyes were glossy and she was already nodding as I asked,

"Will you marry me?"

She launched herself off of the bench, wrapping her arms around me. "Yes. Yes yes yes yes yes." She grabbed my head and kissed me. I could feel her tears on my cheeks and I enveloped her in my arms.

"God, I love you." I whispered, leaning my head against her shoulder. She laughed through her tears.

"Yes."
