I'm sitting here in Starbucks waiting for Miles and his supposed "wonder woman". The bad vibes I got off her description that Miles texted me was enough to make me start regretting to agreeing to this. All of a sudden my phone buzzes and Nicholas's name pops up.
I'm already excited for our date, how about a little practice?
I smile and think of something clever to say back.
I suppose I could make time. You a little rusty?
He replies almost immediately.
You could say so.
I begin to type something, but the sound of Miles voice interrupts me.
"Allison!"
"Oh hey Miles."
"This is Katerina." Katerina is about my height with dark skin and dark hair. Her eyes are brown, but not dark like Nicholas's, more caramel. Her body is curvaceous and I find myself feeling a little jealous.
"Hi. You must be Allison." Her smile seems sweet, but one look in her eyes tells me different. They are cold and sending me a clear message. Fake.
I immediately feel the urge to look away, but I don't. I cooly stare her down right back. Miles obviously doesn't sense the tension and is blabbering about how great of friends we are all going to be.
"Isn't that going to be great guys?" he says oblivious to the fact that we are ignoring him.
"Oh Miles, we are going to be more than friends," she replies with a chilling voice. This chick woke up on the wrong side of the bed.
"Yepp, I'm already feeling the... Well I'm feeling something," not wanting to bash Miles attempts at friendship.
"I'm going to order the coffee what do you girls want?"
"Iced caramel mocha" we say at the same time. The staring intensifies at our similar orders. The second Miles leaves Katerina takes a seat.
"Listen bitch, Miles is mine. I don't care about you childhood bonding thing you have. He is going to be mine, not yours." I was stunned by psychotic behavior. And she called me the bitch.
"No, you listen here cunt, your act is cute but that childhood bonding thing, is just friends. Even so, Miles will never go for your psychotic ass," I half whisper with my eyes squinting and burning holes through her head.
"Please, he is already wrapped around my finger."
"Oh, I can change that." Miles comes back with the coffees but I'm too pissed to notice. I grab mine and stand up.
"I have a lot of homework so I better go, thanks for the coffee."
Miles starts to say something, but I walk away before I hear him. I'm fuming right now so I better just text him later.
A text from Nicholas distracts me from my murderous thoughts about Katerina.
What's up?
About to call my mom for her to pick me up from Starbucks. I start to get the Nicholas butterflies that seem to be making more frequent appearances.
Don't bother, I'll pick you up. Be there in a few. Do I even make my own choices?

When Nicholas pulls into to the parking lot, I take a deep breath. I have to remind myself that he is just another human being.
"Hello pretty thang need a ride?" Nicholas says in a ridiculous accent.
I giggle uncontrollably and try to tone myself down.
"I don't know... are you my knight in shining armor here to rescue me from this horrible Starbucks date?" His brows furrow at this statement.
"Date?"
"Yeah, Miles tried to introduce me to this girl who ended up being a bitch. She wants her claws in Miles and thought I was a threat."
"Wow what a... Well as you put it bitch." He laughs and i join in. His smile could thaw Antarctica. Wow this boy is dangerous.
"Well let me make it up to you. Do you want to go swimming at the creek?" He raises his eyebrows.
My eyes widen in excitement but I try to play it down.
"Hell, why not."
