The next morning I wake up and find myself grinning. Glimpses of my dream float through my brain. It's filled with Nicholas. Nicholas. My grin turns into a full-blown smile and I blush just at the thought of our little hang out. The way we connected was indescribable.
I drag myself out of bed and get ready for school. Gosh what awful high school starts at 7:30. After I shower, I braid my hair into a loose fishtail and apply some mascara.
"Allison don't you dare walk out the door without having breakfast and orange juice!" My mother shouts as I try to sneak by her.
"Mom, why do you force breakfast upon me! Does it really mean that much to you that I eat when I'm not even hungry? That seems extremely wasteful."
"It's not wasteful! I'm just trying to provide you with the energy you need to get through the morning!"
"Fine, I'll eat stupid breakfast."
"Good. Love you!"
"Yeah yeah..."
The bell rings and I hightail it to first, and Nicholas. As soon as I walk in he looks up and smiles at me. I smile back and take my seat, only to find a note on my seat.
Look at your phone
I immediately pull out my phone to check it.
Round 2 Friday night?
I smile and reply.

Class begins but I'm not even paying attention to how Mexico's economy is flourishing or diminishing. I keep trying but my eyes keep wandering to his beautiful eyes. I stare at how he squints when then teacher says something mildly interesting, and how they seem so focused on something, like I could see his thought process just by staring into the almost black swirls of color.
One time he catches me, and usually I would turn to blush at being caught doing such a thing, but I just can't seem to loose contact. He doesn't even seem to mind, he just states right back into mine.
We aren't really looking at each other, no, we were studying one another. Trying as hard as we could to look past the façade every person puts up to mask their true emotions.
I started to feel a little violated, like he was actually succeeding in breaking my walls, which were pretty thick. I broke the contact and looked down at my feet. In my peripheral vision I can see his frown.
I leave class without waiting for him. Miles catches up to me and grabs my shoulder.
"Hey what's up? You've barely spoken to me recently?" He questions, and I can hear the tiny bit of hurt in his voice.
"Sorry I've been so busy... adjusting I guess."
"Yeah, adjusting to Nicholas."
"How do you know his name?" I ask a little suspicious.
"I did my research!" You think I'd let my best friend crush on someone without doing a little research?"
"Yes... And I'm not crushing!" He raises an eyebrow at me.
"Ok! A little crush!"
"Little? You 2 had a stare down the entire class and you call it a 'little' crush?"
"That means nothing! We were just... Admiring each other's eyes." Not a lie.
"Sure... We'll anyway I actually want to ask you something. I met this girl..."
"Stop right there! I don't want to here about your do-and-ditch."
"No no no! It's not like that. She's really cool and I think you would be fast friends." I roll my eyes at that.
"I don't become 'fast friends' with anyone, except maybe you."
"I'm telling you, you'd like her. Just meet us at Starbucks today after school." I sigh realizing Miles isn't going to back down.
"Fine. I'll be there." He starts walking away, yelling back at me.
"Be nice!"
"Yeah yeah..." I say for the second time that day.
I'm sorry if it's boring but I have to set everything up first! The meeting should be interesting ;-D
