They say that we can't choose who we are going to fall in love with. 'Cause sometimes, you just fall in love with the person you hate the most. Sometimes, you just fall in love with the person you don't want to fall in love with. That's how complicated love is.
But when we fall in love, there is no escape. There is no excuse. Sometimes, we even hide our feelings to the person we love, knowing that we do not stand a chance. And the hardest one, is falling for our best friend and knowing that they will forever just treat us as their best friend. Their companion. Their sibling. It just do not break our hearts. It crushes our hearts.
"Jashinny? Why are you crying again?" Felix asked as he approached me. Felix and I are best friends since we were six. My Mom and Dad are working abroad together with his parents so we need to stay together.
"What? Am I?" I asked as I touched my cheek. Unconciously, I really did cry.
"I was just thinking of something." I slightly laughed. He pinched my cheek and stand up from the sofa.
"Tell me when you are ready to talk about it okay?" He said and walked to the kitchen. We have been living together for five years now. Both our parents agree for us to take care of each other.
Felix is so good to me. He takes care of me and he never let anyone hurts me. He chooses me over everything and thats the reason why I fall. Fall so deep that I can't even escape.
I love my best buddy for years now. He loves me, but as her sister only. Every time I look at him, I see my future, happily with him as my husband. I can see myself cooking food for our family. I can see myself taking care of our kids. But he does not feel the same. I knew that he will never love me back.
"Shin? Party tonight. Just stay here okay?" He said. Felix is famous at school and on social media. He post something on instagram, the people will lost their chill.
He got a lot of friends and almost every night, he will go out to hangout with them. Me, on the other side just stays at home usually reading a book.
"Sure! Just be back before midnight." I stated. He slightly chuckle and come near me.
"I will be here until the party is over. Lock the door and do not wait for me." He instructed. I just nodded and went to the kitchen to cook dinner for myself.
When it is already seven, Felix already went out to go to the bar. Tonight, he will again be surrounded with girls. He will have another date tomorrow and another broken heart the next day. That is the cycle. And yes, Felix is a damn heart breaker. But he crushes my heart.
"Eloisse? Are you available tonight?" I asked my only friend over the phone.
"Yep! Another problem with your best friend?" She asked. She knows everything going on between me and Felix.
"Nope. I just want to invite you to come over." I said. I am really lucky to have her in my life.
"Fine. Be there on twenty." She said and ended the call.
When Eloisse arrived, we immediately went to my room to have a girl talk.
"You know what, I really really want to punch your best friend. Why is he so numb and dumb? He is stupid. He is just like Ethan." She said. Ethan is her ex boyfriend and dang! She really just love the guy. They have been together for four years and everyone witnessed how they love each other. Eloisse obviously hasn't move on yet.
