-Chapter 3
Everyone huddled into a circle on the floor of John and Alex's room. John held a pillow in his lap, resting his arms on it. Alex lay on his stomach, kicking his legs back and forth, slowly. "So, lets play.. favorites first!" Angelica suggested. "Ok" Peggy approved. Eliza nodded, along with Alex. John showed his thumbs up. "Ok! I'll start." She paused. "Favorite... Food! Mine's strawberries. Eliza?" "Hmm... Blueberries!" Eliza smiled. "Peggy?" Eliza turned to her younger sister. "Angel food cake!... Alex?" "Um... chocolate I guess," he answered. "John?" Alex turned to John, looking up at him. "Pizza!" He replied.
After a while, John learned a lot about the Schuylers, and Alex. Peggy had given John the nickname 'Michelangelo' from TMNT (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles). The nickname got him a bit flustered, but Alex seemed to think it was cute, and that it suited him. Which made John blush.
The girls had left about an hour ago, and John remembered he needed to organize his things. "Hey Alex?" He said, his head peeking over the rail of his bed.
"Yeah, Mikey?"
John blushed at the nickname. "W-Would you want to help me organize my things now?" He asked
Alex chuckled. "Of course!" He got up from the floor, ready to do whatever he needed to. "Mkay, Thanks!" John climbed down from his bunk, and pulled a bag out of the corner of the room. He set it in the middle of the floor, and went to grab his other two, that just had some valuable things, and other miscellaneous stuff. "Ok, so. This one is clothes." He said, pointing to the largest bag. Alex nodded. "And the other two are just random things. You can just pick one of them, and let me know if you have any questions, ok?" John said, smiling. "Sure thing," Alex said, looking between the bags.
"I think I'll go for this one," he said, picking up a bag. He scanned it for a moment reading the faded words on it. It read: 'J.H.L' Alex was quite confused as to what the 'H' stood for, but he wasn't going to ask. He unzipped it and started carefully pulling out a few things.
He looked over to John to see what he was doing, but instead got a small glimpse of part of John's skin. Him bending down, his shirt rising up a bit. Alex blushed, looking away quickly before John caught him. Alex was truely embarrassed by his actions.
He pulled out a picture frame with a little boy and a lady. The lady was very pretty. She had big brown eyes, and beautiful freckles, like John's. He figured it was his mom. He looked at the boy. He was smiling, his front teeth lost. His eyes were so bright, twinkling, almost. His hair reached his shoulders, and it was really curly and poofy. It made Alex giggle.
John heard his giggle and turned toward Alex. "What's so funny?" He asked, raising an eyebrow. "Oh nothing, just this." John facepalmed at the picture Alex to him. "Oh geez! I remember wearing my hair like that, it's embarrassing." "No, No. I think it's cute!" That statement made John blush, and Alex a bit to. 'Why am I even blushing!? I can't even anymoreee,' John thought. 'Dammit Alexander,' Alex cleared his throat and turned back to the bag he was working with, pulling out a few more pictures.

John lay on the floor, completely exhausted. Alex lay in his bed, limbs spread wherever. "I haven't done that much work in a while" Alex finally said, looking at the ceiling. "Yeah... that was quite a workout." John replied, and rolled over to face Alex's bed. "Hey Alex?" He asked. "Yeah?" Alex turned over to look at John. "I had fun today.. like.. a lot of fun. I enjoyed meeting the girls. They're really nice. I'm glad I got pared with you, Alex. You're so generous!" John smiled. "Well of course! Anything for a friend." Alex smiled back at him, savouring the moment as long as he could.
The sun was starting to fade behind the trees, which meant darkness in New York. John was looking through a picture book, mostly of his baby pictures, but there were pictures of him being older as well. He half smiled at the pictures with his parents in them. They looked so happy together. But John knew that not long after the photo was taken, his parents got divorced. Their divorce was pretty violent. Dad breaking things, throwing things. Mom was completely torn that day. We were both torn.
"Watcha doin' Mikey?" Alex asked, peeking over my bed rail. But he was pretty- I mean um.. kinda short, and he couldn't quite see over it. "Looking at some baby photos, you wanna see?" John asked, looking down at his friend. Alex nodded and hummed in response "mhm." "Mkay" John said and scooted over to make room for Alex. Alex climbed up the ladder and squeezed in beside John, their arms squished together. John felt a tingling sensation in his stomach in that moment, and he kinda liked it. 'Stop. Being. So. Unimaginabley. Gay Johnathan' John thought before he spoke.
"So this one was taken when I was around three... oh my gosh look at my poofy hair!" John giggled. "Wow, that's some real poof!" Alex exclaimed, giggling along with John.
After a while of looking through John's pictures, Alex yawned and absentmindedly rested his head on John's shoulder out of instinct. John's eyes widened for a moment a blush creeping across his face. Alex snored lightly, a wave of relief washing over John. He carefully rested Alex's head on his own pillow. He lay down next to him, giving Alex some space. John turned to the wall on his side, thinking. 'I think I'm gay... or bi.. or something.. and I think I like Alexander..' John couldn't help but sheepishly smile to himself as he felt Alex pressed up against his back. It was warm and comforting, which made him fall fast asleep.
