"Tell me everything." Lyla gasps, dramatically clutching her heart. She lean's back, pretending to faint- and falls back onto my cushioned bed. Her eyes widen, as he fingers seize my comforter, "He sat on this bed!"
Anna clasps her hands excitedly, and I attempt to roll my eyes to the back of my head. You know maybe inviting them over wasn't the best thing...
"It's no big deal- we just hung out." I shrug, but I can't fight off the heat running to my face- and I burst into a grin, "and he was soo adorable."
"I knew it!" Lyla says nearly falling off my bed. She steadies herself as we all burst into laughter.
"Talking to him just feels so easy." I sigh. "Like, we could talk for years and never run out of things to say."
"Aww, la romance." Anna gushes softly, "I think it's sweet."
"Me too," I frown, "but it probably won't ever happen."
"Wishful thinking, okay?" Lyla says, "No negativity."
I sit up on my bed, as an uneasy feeling dwells in my stomach. "It's not just that. The night started off so well- and then he got all, weird."
"Wierd- how?" Anna asks, raising a perfectly plucked eyebrow.
I shake my head, doubt creeping up my body. "I don't know- just weird. We sat down for dinner and his attitude just shifted, super dramatically. I can't even pinpoint exactly what it was."
Anna frowns, her eyes becoming unclear and unfocused, but doesn't say anything- which is surprising, she usually has something to say about everything.
"He also left super quickly, didn't even want to hang out later. Maybe he doesn't like me and I'm just fooling myself." I whisper. It could be possible, who was I trying to kid? This is Will Moore we're talking about, not just some random guy in school. He doesn't go for girls like me- and he never will. It less of a personality thing- and more of a living thing. Football players don't go for girls like me, and they never will.
"I don't know girl, but whatever it is you two have- it sounds like a good thing- so don't brush it away so quickly," Lyla says wrapping an arm around me. "Kay?"
"I know." I smile slowly, "How could I survive without you guys?"
"You wouldn't," Anna states, pulling me into a hug. "We kinda need each other to function."
...
(3 weeks later)
Lyla, Anna and I are making our way to our lunch table (unfortunately Mrs.Wang is at a meeting which means her room is locked.", when someone grabs my shoulder from behind.
I spin around annoyed, but instead, I come face to face with Will. I grip my lunch bag nervously.
Will has his shy smile on, and his eyes of a million seas are staring at me intently.
