Shonna threw her alarm clock across the room. I was wide awake. I grabbed my purse and took out my outfit. A black loose fitting crop top over a white wife beater and some black tights with some black flats.

I did my early morning hygiene thing and got dressed. I put on some black cherry lipstick and some black eyeliner and lightly patted gold eye shadow on my face. I put some blush on and some earrings. Shonna did my hair in curls while i was doing that.

Shonna put on a short dress hot pink that stopped just above her knees and some hot pink flats. She put on some blush and some light purple lip stick. She then put on some orange eye shadow. She put on some diamond earrings. Her hair was back in a ponytail and she had Chinese bangs.

We checked the time. We had an hour. I grabbed some snacks from the counter and we separated them into the snack pouches of our bags.

We packed and quickly went to my car. I drive to school and found a parking spot. It was farther away from the school so I could get some exercise. We walked in the school and everyone looked at us. I could see Trina and her crew mugging us.

Trina had on a Gucci dress it was brown and it hugged all her curves showing off her hourglass shape. Her brown boots matched her dress and she had her face made up cute. The naked look. She had on gold watches and bracelets. Her necklace was gold too.

Her hair was in waves. Kim looked identical in her dress that was the same kind except it had long sleeves on it and her shoes were boots. Her long curly hair was in a ponytail. Her make-up was making her look like one of those Hispanic girls you see on instagram. With the thick well drawn eyebrows and the perfect long eyelashes. The light green contacts. The pink lipstick. She looked just as pretty as Trina if not better.

I saw Martina and she wore a white dress and white shoes and she had the naked look. The other girl who's face I had admired was wearing a black dress and black boots. The white girl had on a green dress and green shoes. I guess its dress alike day for their group because they all had on a dress and boots to match it. It was all Gucci.

I shook my head and walked over where Lando. I didn't want to see Carlos because I knew things would be awkward. I was going to try my best to avoid him. I would focus my energy in Lando. He was my friend after all.

I walked with me and Shonna to meet up with Lamar. They dapped and we all separated. I then remembered that I had. First period with Carlos. I sighed. When the bell rang, I took my time getting to class so that I could end up somewhere else since Carlos showed up earlier than me when he bothered to even show up to class.

He was sitting right behind Kim who was in a deep conversation with Trina and they were laughing. I walked in and sat as far away as possible. I covered my face with my hands. I listened as the teacher took row. I did what I normally do and took notes the whole class and used my notes from the days before to do the work sheets. I was so happy when class was over.

Second period was nice. I ignored Derreck and continued to put all my energy into Lando. I still took notes and I still did my work even though Lando made that impossible because he tickled my sides.  I tried hard not to laugh to loud or jump around too much because I didn't want the teacher to hear us.

When class was over, I saw Derreck walk out with Martina. I was pissed. I was sick of this. I had to get over him.

Lando walked me to third period and we sat there and took notes together. I was glad I had Lando with me. I wanted him to stay with me all day. To hold me and kiss me and run his fingers through my hair while we.....

Wait a minute.... did I just think about? Oh hell. Not again. I was going to punch myself after class.

When class was over, I was so happy. Lando went looking for Lamar while I walked to lunch alone. I needed some me time. Time to think about everything.

"Rain'Ella!" I heard a voice from down the hall. I heard fast paced foot steps getting closer and closer. I turned around.

Great! Just great! The last person I needed to see right now. Carlos fucking Rodriguez!

"Yes?" I said quietly.

"Are you ignoring me?" He kind of looked angry and sad.

"Y... no! no..." I said trying to cover my answer. I don't know what the hell just happened with that.

"Yes you are. It's not going to be awkward between us. I promise. Just give me a chance. I won't force you into anything." He looked kind if nervous and I blushed at his words and the fact that I had that affect on him.

"What do you mean a ch...chance?" I asked. I was more nervous than he was.

"Be my girlfriend." He said.

My mouth went dry and my jaw dropped. I uttered something that sounded like a moan. I opened and closed my mouth not being able to speak.

AAAAAA! OH MY GOD! OH MY GOOOD! I JUST GOT ASKED OUT BY CARLOS FREAKING RODRIGUEZ! OH MY GOOOOOOD!

"Y...yes." I stuttered and smiled shyly and I could feel myself blushing.

"Good. Come in Baby. We got some showing off to do." With that, he pulled me close to him and kissed me. We were late for lunch but I didn't care. People were staring at us and it made me self conscious.

We walked to the Cafeteria and he had his arm around my shoulders. Trina and her crew mugged us. Kim looked at Carlos as if she was going to kill him. Riley had to be held back by one of her friends because she wanted to attack us. I was so close to laughing that it wasn't funny.

Carlos leaned in again and kissed me in front everyone. I pulled away to come up for air and blushed. I hugged him and went to go toward my table but he pulled me back.

"I don't like the way Orlando looks at you." He said quietly.

"I'll tell him I'm dating you and he won't be bothered with looking at me like that anymore." I Said and I turned and went over to my usual table.

Orlando Jackson had never had such an angry look in his face in his entire life. His face was red. His jaw was clenched. His eyes were narrowed and bloodshot. Shonna was trying to calm him down. I stood at the table and even though I didn't want to do this, I had to.

"Hey guys. I'm dating Carlos now and..." I looked over at Orlando Jackson. My best male friend." He doesn't want me talking to you anymore. He says he doesn't like the way you look at me." With that, I walked away quickly. Almost running and left the cafeteria.

My heart felt as if it was going to stop. I stood in the hallway wondering why all of a sudden tears were in my eyes. I decided I wasn't going to go to anymore of my classes. I would go pick up Renee and spend the rest of the day with her and bring her home before work.

I rushed out and got into my car and drive to the park. My earlier plan to get Renee turned into a longing to be alone. I decided I would sit at the park before going to work. Just to clear my head and calm my nerves.

I sat in the bench and started to cry. I couldn't believe I had done that to my best friend who I was in love with. My best friend who protected me. To have a boyfriend. Was it worth it?
