For as long as she could remember, Kesi had been schizophrenic. She took medication every day and had to report to her therapist three times a week about what she had seen and heard.

It was infuriating.

Kesi wasn't crazy like everyone believed. She was just aware of a world beyond the one she was born in.

She could see and experience what most people thought of as make believe.

Fairies, elves, dragons. They were all real. And they were beautiful. There was nothing as serene and breathtaking as a forest full of supposedly mythical creatures.

Kesi made trips to that magical place often, it felt like more of a home than where she actually lived.

The fairies took her in quickly. She considered them her real family.

The fairies weren't tiny like everyone thought. Instead, they were around four and a half to five feet tall and had large, bright wings. It was truly magical.

The dragons befriended her quickly as well. They enjoyed giving her rides through the sky. She enjoyed it just as much, if not more.

What she loved most about the whole thing was what happened to the forest at night.

Thousands of tiny lights on the leaves and trunks of the trees added a beautiful glow to the already happy atmosphere.

Kesi often felt like she was on top of the world when she crossed the border into the land of magic.

The second she stepped foot in the other world, she could feel the energy surge through her like a powerful tidal wave.

It was when she stepped back over into the human world that she felt lifeless. There was nothing good for her in the human world, it wasn't where she belonged.

But she was stuck there, and she would be for a very long time.
