EXT. CITY STREET. MID-AFTERNOON
MIA female early 20's, brown curly long hair, slim body type, is walking down the street listening to music when a magazine catches her attention as she passes a news stand. She stops and as she reaches for the magazine a fairly big engagement ring is seen. She buys the magazine and continues walking as she reads. She stops at a studio rolls up the magazine and wipes her cheeks with a napkin from her pocket before going in.
INT. STUDIO. MID-AFTERNOON
As Mia walks in, JACE male early 20's, tall with brown hair styled into a fohawk, athletic body type, is finishing up a recording when he spots Mia he smiles and quickly leaves the booth as he walks his quick pace slows as he reaches her and he rubs the back of his neck. Mia is sitting on a chair in the middle of the room texting on her phone.
"What's wrong?" Jace asks
Mia throws the magazine at Jace without taking her eyes off her phone. Jace shakes his head as he picks up the magazine, the cover picture is a tall pretty brunette leaning on a car and Jace leaning into her. He blinks a few times before attempting to speak, Mia still not meeting his gaze.
"Are we really doing this again? Mia..Sophia is just a friend."
"Again!" Mia laughs.
"There shouldn't have been a first time Jace. Sophia is a friend so was Amanda, Jennifer, Jessy, Ariana..all friends."
Mia looks up from her phone and looks Jace in the eyes, he shifts his weight to the other side when their eyes meet, and she slowly gets up.
"That excuse is getting old don't you think?" Mia puts her phone down.
"Just answer me this..was this meeting of yours the time you told me you had business and couldn't attend my sisters wedding?"
"You knew how my life was going to be Mia, I have a job to do, appearances to make, interviews to attend, this isn't new to you." Jace defends.
"Wrong answer. Try again."
Mia picks up her bag and starts to walk away, Jace walks behind her rubbing his temples in pure frustration.
"Why do you do this? We always go back to this. You say you want the truth...that's all I ever give you Mia."
"Maybe I'm not good enough for you. You obviously need more, your lifestyle means more to you and I won't stand in the way anymore." Mia says softly.
"You can't be serious? You're all I ever wanted why else would I give you that ring...my life style is nothing without you." He responds in a panicked tone
Mia cuts Jace off and walks towards him, she caresses his face then opens his hand and places the engagement ring in it. She turns to walk away but before she opens the door she faces his direction one more time.
"It's time to let go cause if I don't I think I might just lose my mind."
"I need clarity, but I will always love you." she adds.
Mia turns around and walks out the studio without giving Jace a chance to change her mind.
Jace paces back and forth and throws a chair across the room. He drops to the floor and lets the ring hit the floor, and rests his head in his hands. He picks his head up and sees the ring lying there, he gets up grabs his sweater and runs out the studio.
EXT. CITY STREET. MID-AFTERNOON
As he runs out he bumps into a pedestrian and the minor distraction prevents him from seeing Mia run back into the studio and so he continues running in the direction she had previously gone.
