Chapter 4 | La La LandI woke up this Monday morning with a huge weight on my chest. I couldn't tell if it was from me holding so much in, or if there was something literally on my chest. I slowly open my eyes, rubbing them to see clearly. I squinted to see Milo laying half of his body on my chest, like I was his pillow. I melted at the sight, but it quickly left when I felt the pain of my chest with him laying on me.
I sighed as I gently moved his body to lay on my pillow instead of me. He groaned in response, sinking into my pillow. Ugh, he gets to sleep but I have to get up and go to Hell.
Picking my phone up off of my night stand, I looked at the time. It was 6:30 am, giving me a ton of time this morning. I straightened up off my bed and headed to the bathroom. My reflection looked like crap. The bags under my eyes were so noticeable, I cringed. I quickly washed my face and brushed my teeth.
Feeling like I haven't slept in two years, I grabbed some basic ripped loose jeans and one of my big band T-shirt's and threw it on. I shoved a hoodie in my bag, and tied up my converse. I tiredly grabbed my bag and my phone and left the room.
I entered the kitchen to see Bryce in front of the fridge looking for something to eat. Why isn't anyone else up? Bryce glanced in my direction, rising his eyebrows.
"Why are you so early?" He questioned, turning his attention to me. I shrugged glancing at the clock seeing that it was 6:45 am. I guess it didn't take long for me to get ready.
"I guess I didn't realize it was this early, I just want to hurry up and get the day over with." I said. In return, Bryce came up to me and placed his hands on my shoulders.
"Let me drop you off, and I'll pick you up today too and we can go get food after school, yeah? Or maybe a movie? How does that sound?" Bryce asked, smiling down at me. My eyes opened widely, getting excited about seeing a movie and eating popcorn. I jump up and down, excited already.
"Yes! Yes! Thank you so much Brycie," I hug him, hearing him chuckle.
"Alright, lets get you to school dork." He grinned, leading the way out to his car.
Arriving to school was too short, and I groaned as I said my goodbyes and left his car. I waved to him as he drove out of the parking lot. I sighed, missing his comfort.
"Are you going to stand there all day or," Justin
said, dragging the 'r' out longer than necessary. I turned around and grinned at him."Wish I could, better than being in class with your dumbass." I joked, slightly punching his shoulder. His put his hand over his heart, gasping.
"How could you say that?" He pouted, flicking my forehead. I swatted his hand away like there was a bee flying around me.
"Let's just get to class, weirdo." I rolled my eyes walking beside him to endure the pain that high school was.
Nessa spotted us from outside and quickly walked towards us.
"Friday was so crazy, did you guys have fu-" Nessa stopped talking as she made eye contact with me. Her eyes gave me a once over. They judged my whole body and face and I mentally cried. I wasn't wearing makeup today, but I didn't think it was that noticeable.
"Madi, you look dead today. Are you sick or something? Your skin has a weird color," her face was completely worried and I knew she truly thought that I was just sick, not because I wasn't wearing makeup. Great.
"I'm not sick," I laughed lightly, rolling my eyes to distract the fact that her words hurt. "I just didn't feel like wearing makeup. It was a tiring weekend." I stated, waving it off like it was no big deal.
