~Chapter 2~
Something's wrong but I don't know what. I don't even know how I know there is something wrong. It's just a strange feelin that the world isn't like it should be. The world is a beach with hills behind it.
The fact that everything around me is made of cubes feels strange, although I don't know why. Nothing is as it should be. But it's familiar, I guess it's ok to be here.
I wander below cube trees, climb up stairs up a hill, encounter a box sheep, and finally reach the top of the hill. Left is a desert, right forest thins into plains.
Although I don't really know wha I'm looking for, I cross the desert to the mountains. From their peeks, I should have a better view. I come across a duck-beaked chicken, which drops an egg. Finally something that's not regular! I discover that I can make the egg vanish into my mind and then make it appear again.
The sun sinks, suddenly I get a strong sence of déjà vu: I've been here before, nor good to be here, at least not at night. I collect a couple of sand blocks and try to build a house out of them. Won't work because I can't make a roof out of sand, that's to bad; I hear a dull "unngh" somewhere near. A being resembles me but appears less friendly approaches me with its outstretched arms, behind it there's a thin that look like a up right cucumber walking o stumps. Skeletons come from the other direction. Not good, not good at all.
Panicking, I try to scramble on the wall of sand that I just erected. After I beat away at a block, creating a small staircase, I manage to climb on it. That gives me an idea, I remove the lowest sand block, although my arms are to short to reach it, removing it was surprising easy. All I have to do is want it to disappear. It doesn't pop into my mind, however, it turns into a smaller cube that hovers above the ground.
I've got no wonder about it, the green guys can't reach me now, but the skeletons are still firing arrows at me. I try to hop ad materialize a sand block beneath me at the same time. It's a bit like skipping rope, I was never good at it as a child. But it works: this block appears, supporting my weight. I'm now standing on a column of sand three blocks high. The green guys are surrounding the column, groaning in frustation. But before i even have time to gloat, i feel another electrical shock from an arrow. I suddenly feel very week, one more hit and I'm finished.
I jump up and down a couple of times, materializing blocks below me. In this way I build a column of sand twevle blocks high, out of reach of the skeleton bows. As I look down, I get dizzy. Far below me, an angry mob has gathered. I hear outraged unnghs and the rattling of bones. I better not make a wrong move! If i fall of the column... I'm screwed...
Without moving, I look around me. From up here, I have an excellent view of my surroundings. There's a distant island in the sea. Behind the mountains I discover a soft light that looks inviting. What could it be? From up here, i cant say.
I stand on the pillar like a staue. I cant sit, but on the other hand, standing doesnt seem to tire my legs at all.
