The first thing I want to tell you is that this isn't my story to tell. I would normally let the person who the story belongs to tell it themself but... they aren't here at the moment. But that part of the story comes later.
I don't really know what to do other than to start at the beginning. Or, at least the place where I remember things really starting to escalate. My name is Rebbecca "Becky" Jones, and this is the tragedy of my best friend and her ex-best friend.
The first thing I remember is the sound of my alarm clock going off at six in the morning. I reach over from my bed to my night stand and turn off the unpleasant beeping.
My hand finds the switch attached to my lamp and flicks it on. That's when I finally open my eyes and slowly sit up.
Beside me, on the other side of my full sized bed, I can hear my best friend Tyffani groaning as she slowly sits up beside me. She had been sleeping over at my house for almost two entire school years. We are best friends, after all.
"Morning, Tyff." I say sleepily as I inch myself out of the bed.
"Ugh... why Monday?" She complains as she follows behind me to the kitchen for some breakfast.
"I feel the exact same way." I respond. "Mondays are the actual worst."
We both pour ourselves a bowl of Reeses Puffs, our favorite sugar cereal, and make small talk while we eat, like we always did.
We finish up breakfast and continue getting ready for the day. In about an hour, we finally get into my mom's car and she drives us to our school.
I get out of the car, followed by Tyffani, and we slowly head to our lockers, grab our books, and then walk to our normal hang out place in the cafeteria.
We get out our phones and talk while scrolling through social media for a good ten minutes or so. And that's when I see them.
The only three girls at the school that we don't mix with. Emmaline, Caitlyn, and Abby.
I can't quite remember where it started, probably long before I moved here, but ever since I came to this small town, Tyffani and Emmaline have always hated each other. I never asked why or when, they just always have.
And this is how their story really begins. The beginning of the end.
