[Mao's PoV]

I woke up by the smell of something delicious.

I sat up, yawn and did some stretching.

I remembered the accident yesterday and I don't think I'm ready for any missions because of what happened. It's still fresh and it won't get out of my mind.

I look at my sword in the left side of my bed. It was leaning against the wall, the blade is stained in blood making me flinch, remembering the incident again.

'I should clean that before Krystelle can find it. And where the heck is the sheath of that sword?!'

Knock! Knock! Knock!

My eyes widened and I suddenly panicked.

"Mao, are you awake? Breakfast is ready!" She shouted from the other side of the door.

I just sat in my bed in silence, trying to think of a way to cover the bloody sword.

[Author-chan: No, I'm not using british accent here...]

"I'm coming—"

"NO! I-I mean, you can't!" I shouted.

"And...why is that?" She asked.

"Be-because...I'm naked! Yes, naked!" I mentally face-palmed from what I said.

"Naked?"

"Ye-yeah, la-last night was really hot and I didn't realised that I took all of my clothes off!" I said. It went silent for a moment but I heard a sigh from the other side.

"Alright. Come down stairs when you're in your clothes." She said. I heard her footsteps disappearing.

I gave a sigh of relief. I stood up and went to my closet to find a cover for my sword.

In luck, I found another sheath. My eyes lightened and smiled like a goof. I grab it and went to the sword to cover it.

"I'm gonna clean you later." I said to the sword as if it was a person.

After that, I went downstairs to eat breakfast. I spotted Krystelle in her usual seat, she was drinking coffee while reading a book.

"Morning..." I greeted, she bluntly stared at me.

"Yeah, morning too..." She greeted back.

I sat down and slowly eating the eggs and bacons.

[Third Person's PoV]

"You came home late last night, what happened?" Mao asked.

"Well, we went to Mt. Shellrock, stole the Infinity Ring and got chased BUT we defeated the monster who was guarding the ring." She said.

"I hope you have not gotten any injuries." He said with a worried tone.

"I haven't." She simply said.

"By the way, I'll be gone for...I dunno, the whole day? Don't wait up for me okay? You need your sleep." She said.

Mao grew suspicious about how the way she talks, it seems though she's hiding something away from him.

Where is she going? Another mission. His suspicion turn into a worry one as he thought about it. If it is a mission, then Misty would assign her in a very dangerous mission considering Lee's the strongest mage in their Guild.

"Alright, but becareful Lee." He gave in with a sigh followed soon after.

She looked shocked because he didn't called her 'Senpai' or 'Onee-chan' anymore. Mao thought about it too but shrugged it off since it's not part of the subject.

'His attitude is changing...I wonder why?' Lee thought to herself. Who else could influence the innocent boy? Rick? Adam? Shiroto? Akaro? Anyone?!

After their conversation ended, Mao went upstairs without saying a word making the red-headed girl confused, worried and suspicios.

Confused, because she have never seen Mao acting like this.

Worried, because, maybe he's not feeling good that he acts that way.

Suspicious, because he might have hiding something from her.

She haven't felt this kind of emotions before, but because Mao came to her life, she vowed to herself to protect the boy at all cost. She treated the boy like her own little brother, she had a brother once but that's a story for another time.

She set the book down and put the plate and her mug into the sink and started to wash them.

'I won't tell him...not today." She thought as she wash the plate and mug.

Now she was done, she grab her book and went upstairs to her room, not bothering to knock at Mao's room since she thought the boy needed some time alone.

She closed the door behind her after she went inside of her large-but-not-so-small room.

She sat down to her chair and place the book in the shelf next to her study table. She grab her black and thick journal, open it and wrote something in it.

She close the book and just placed it ontop of the desk.

'I'm sure you will read this, Mao.' She thought.

She remembered the case under her bed. She went to her queen-sized bed and crouched down to reach the case under the bed.

Once the case is now in her grasp, she put it ontop of the shelf, hoping that Mao will find thay too.

'I must go.' She grab her satchel and a bag full of clothes, she the bag in her bag and her satchel hung in her left shoulder.

She went outside of her room, but not before knocking at Mao's room.

"I-I'm g-going now, Mao..." She stuttered. She never really stuttered before nor she never felt so scared.

Scared that she will never see him again and scared that she may not there for him anymore...

But she doesn't have any choice but to leave him behind.

She didn't heard any response since it was quiet. She only gave a sigh and walk away from his room and outside her house.

As she walk away, she didn't notice the stare of the blond-red-haired boy in his bedroom's window.

Mao look at her disappearing form, he was worried. Why does she sound so scared? It's so not like her.

Mao pull the curtains to cover the window where he saw his sister walking away, leaving him in the quiet and lonely house.

'Sister, huh?' He thought and softly smiled.
