Chapter 8: a fateful encounter

"ahh i finally got her a gift" i said holding a plushie that looked like a creeper. note to self remember Xy's birthday "might as well get this gift wrapped" i muttered to myself as i head to the counter

"hmm i wonder if Ender is done making the cake, i'll go visit him" i said leaving the shop and heading towards Ender's cafe/bar "hello anybody home?" i asked opening the cafe door ringing the bell

"i'm sorry but were clo- oh it's you.." Anya said as her mood slowly changed from happy to gloomy "you haven't changed a bit anya" i said as she walked up to me and stepped on my foot

"let me show you to your table Len" she said taking her foot off mine "thanks but i'm just here to check up on Ender"

"is that so well he's in the kitchen making Xy's birthday cake" she said as i went to the kitchen to see Ender putting the finishing touches on the cake

"oh hey Len long time no see" Ender said greeting me "you to Ender, the cake looks great by the way" i said complementing him

"thanks but it's not finish i still need to put candles, so how old is she already?" Ender asked "well she's turning 16 today" i said answering his question

"time flies doesn't it?" Ender said as he puts candles on the cake "yeah it sure does, i can't believe it's already been five years since i got stuck here" i said looking at Xy's gift

"well i'm gonna go home, oh before i leave i'd like to buy some brownies" i asked as Ender looked at me curiously "i thought you didn't like chocolate?" he asked

"it's not for me it's for Xy" i said as Ender sighed "you know you need to learn how to say no to her" he said "why is that?"

"because if she keeps eating sweets she'll have diabetes or worse" he said as i facepalmed "she's not an animal she has self control"

"fine but don't blame me if she gets diabetes" he said handing me a box of brownies "thanks and don't worry i'll keep her in check" i said as i headed back home.

as i head back home to plan Xy's birthday i carelessly bumped into guy with black hair and lifeless black eyes wearing blacksmith clothing

"you okay?" he asked "watch where your going next time" i said

"that's my line you're the one that bumped into me" he said to me "look i was walking around and then you bumped into me" i said. this is gonna turn into a heated argument i suggest you grab some popcorn

"but if you apologize right now i'll forgive you" i said waiting for his apology "your expecting me to apologize to you? no way in fact you should apologize for bumping into me" he said

"stop it you two" Xy said in unison with a girl that looked similar to the person that bumped into me "why?" we both asked

"i asked them first" we said in unison "stop copying me!" we both said angering each other

"does this always happen to you?" Xy asked to the girl as the girl shook her head "no my brother doesn't really get into arguments how about you does your friend always gets into trouble?" she asked

"yeah len is always having arguments with his computer and with aubrey oh and also with me sometimes" she said as the girl laughed "well it was nice meeting you two but me and my brother have to go" she said grabbing her brother's shirt dragging him to where they're going

"well come on len let's go" Xy said grabbing the remote on my labcoat and teleporting us back home. oh yeah i had that on me

"here you go Xy" i said handing her a box of brownies that i got from Ender "thanks i'm going to eat them all no-"

"before you do that Ender told me that you should cut down on the sweets" i said stopping her from eating all the brownies "fine i won't eat all of them" she said as she took half of the amount of brownies and ran off towards the living room

"what am suppose to do with these?" i said looking at the rest of the brownies "hmm oh well might as well put them in the fridge for later" i said putting the brownies on the fridge
