The last day of school arrived, maybe to quickly. Chan smiled finally out of high school. We was getting immensely sick of the constant drama and stress.
Hyunjin gave him a congratulatory high five while they were in Chan's truck driving to his home.
"Now we have all summer to hang out go riding. Are you participating in the races at the fair this year?" He suddenly asked.
"I don't know. It seems like I never have any luck in it." Chan said frowning remembering his previous years of the races. The year before he broke is arm because another boy, named Mark Tuan, hit his back tire and set him off cource.
Hyunjin chuckled slightly at his memories of the previous years. Chan and him have been best friends for almost 10 years. They became friends when hyunjin moved into the house a couple miles down the road at age 7, Chan was 8. They did so much together, but their most fond memory is of building the shop.
Chan and hyunjin called in professionals to lay the foundation, but after a slab of concrete was there chan and hyunjin did everything else. Hyunhjin remembers threatening chan with a nail gun and almost nailing chans hand to the roof beams.
Chan's memories of painting the outside made him smile. Remembering the silly paint fight they had. Chan handled the white paint while hyunjin handled the red. Chan had been painting the trim above hyunhjin when a big drop plopped onto hyunjins head. Chan smiled innocently but he knew he made a mistake.
Hyunjin wiped the paint out of his hair quickly and dipped his brush into the vivid paint. Soon gliding the brush over chans stomach ruining his grey fox shirt.
This started a full on paint war between the two. They flicked there brushes at each other, messed up the wall and the ground under them.
They didn't even repaint the wall for memory sake.
Soon chan pulled into his long gravel driveway and parked. Hyunjin and him got out and went straight to their shop. They vowed when they built it to never let anyone else in unless it was they're wives or moms.
Hyunjin laughed walking in seeing the splatters on the left wall from the paint war. He noticed chan added a loft and a kitchen since last time he was there. He explored the newly improved shed and smiled in content.
The shed now had a small kitchen with a mini fridge counter stove oven microwave dish washer and stackable washer dryer set, behind a wall at the back. It also had a staircase to a loft where there was a queen sized mattress under a sky light.
"When did you do all this?" Hunjin asked.
"I got all the materials as a graduation gift so I decided to move into here because I don't want to live with my parents but I don't want to live in the city either, The country is so expencive!" He smiles showing hyunjin around the new additions.
(Crapy blueprint of the house part of Chan's shed.)
"This is awesome. You should have called me I would've helped out!"
"I did like 50 times but you were out with some girl every time." Chan stated clearly unamused and disappointed in his best friend.
"Well fine at lease we can hang out more now that you have your own place." Hyunjin smiles and sat on the old crusty couch that has always been there.
"I should've asked for a new couch too." Chan chuckled falling into the couch soon adjusting to be comfortable.
"I see you asked for an Xbox one and Wi-Fi." Hyunjin stated noticing the router and consol on Chan's tv stand. Chan nodded turning on the tv and Xbox to watch motocross YouTube videos, Hyunjin and Chan's second favorite thing to do after actually riding motorbikes, obviously.
Hyunjin fell asleep on the couch so Chan got a blanket from the shelves that were under the stairs and placed it over his body. Then texted his parents he's be staying the night.
After texting his patents Chan made his way up the stairs and sprawled out on his mattress. He clinged to his blanket and soon fell into dream world as well.
