A strange car went past Chan's house the first Monday of summer break. He was helping his dad fill the side-by-side with gas when a nice car that definitely did not belong in the country drove past. Chan raised his eyebrow.
"Someone new move in?" He asked his dad raising his shoulders and hands signaling that he has no clue. Chan stopped his curiosity and got into the drivers seat his dad followed getting into the passenger seat of the side by side.
Chan drove it back up the road drifting into its parking spot.
"Your ganna give me a heart attack kid!" Chan's dad clenched his chest and Chan laughed at him.
"Not quite dad. Your a tough cookie." Chan got out and went to his shop. Opening the garage he let in light. He changed his shirt to a ratty old one so he wouldn't care if it got dirty and started working on his new Enduro Bike he bought used from a kid at school.
The bike was pretty beat up. The plastic over the front tire and along the side was cracked in every direction. The front tire was flat. The handle bars were bent and the engine didn't start. Of corce Chan could fix it, but it would take many moons.
Soon two figures walked up to his shop. His dad and another boy he didn't recognise.
"Chan, this is our neighbors nephew. He's spending the summer at there place and they want you to show him the ropes to country living!" His dad stated proudly.
"How do I do that?" He questioned.
"Well he can help you fix bikes, and you can teach him how to ride. Now I've got to go your moms making pie have fun!" Chan's dad scuttled away leaving the boy and Chan to themselves.
"Hi I'm Chan nice to meet you." He held out a oily hand twords the stranger. The boy touched Chan's hand with only two of his fingers before retracting his hand and wiping his fingers on his jeans. Chan gave him an odd look do on shaking it away.
"I'm Jeongin nice to meet you too." He smiled and Chan tured.
"Have you ever even seen a motorcycle?"
"Yes, but they're usually bulkier and are on roads not dirt." explained jeongin as he twiddled his thumbs.
"Oh god. Well I guess we'll have to start from the basics." Chan picked up a skrew driver, " this is a skrew driver." He showed it off like vana white and the wheel of fortune prizes.
"I know what a skrew driver is." Jeongin spat out at Chan. Chan nodded and mover to the harder tools not many people remember but are crucial to fixing motercycles.
Many hours past and jeongin could finally remember the difference between a wrench and pliers.
"Thanks for the help today! You can come tomorrow and help again. That'd be great." Chan clapped his hand and rubbed then together to shoo some dirt off.
"Ok thanks for having patince with me."jeongin said before walking out of the shop them home to his aunt and uncle.
Chan slid to his kitchen before turning in the sink and smothering his hands in soap. He turned the faucet off and dried his hands with a shop towel. He truged up the stairs and opened a drawer containing his underwear and pants.
He grabbed a pair of sweats and changed into them. Afterwards plopping onto his bed. He spent an uncounted amour of time on his phone before plugging it in and pulling his covers over himself up to midwaist.
His hands slid under his pillow and he rolled onto his left side. Smiling about nothing in particular. Just a good ass day.
