I was walking to the back of the school when I felt my phone vibrate in my pocket. I pulled it out and unlocket it. I had gotten a message from Meg. Jesus, what is it now?

Meg: hey hey hey! we are gonna have 2 find another time for the thingy, i got caught up with something sorryyyyyy!

I sighed, rolled my eyes, and smiled as I responded.

Jo: it's fine don't worry about it. you could just be honest if you were gonna go masturbate.

     Meg: fuck u!

I chuckled and turned my phone off. It was really nice outside so I decided to go for a walk instead. The cloudy, cool weather just made me want to hug it and think. I quickly turned around and practically exploded into a person, making me fall onto my bum. I looked up and took a sigh of relief.

"Hey Skye, sorry for bumping into you. What are you doing over here you almost gave me a heart attack." I stood and brushed myself off. I looked up to her and tilted my head slightly.

"You looked like there was something on your mind and now I wanna know what it is because I really can't read you right now." She softly huffed out and I could tell she was frustrated by the tone of her voice. Her emerald eyes were hard and her brows were furrowed. Her bottom lip was slightly red from her biting it for a long while.

"Oh, I'm good, just have some... stuff going on. Forget about me, ok? Are you alright?" I frowned a little bit and looked right into her eyes.

"Yeah don't worry about it. Everything's fine." She took off her glasses and ran a hand through her thick, black hair before looking back to me.

It was obvious she was lying. I know Skye feels a lot of pain. She lost her parents when she was 14 to a car incident and hasn't talked about her feelings ever since. She's a master of keeping everything locked inside and threw away the key, hoping no one would find it. We both are.

I walked over and engulfed her into a tight hug, reaching a little below her shoulders then stood on my tip-toes to look her in the eyes.

"I'm here for you Skye, always. You're my best friend and I'll do anything for you, okay?" I smiled, genuinley, and hugged her again.

This time, she hugged back tightly and whispered into my neck, "I know, thank you."

My entire body shivered from the hug and her breath felt so... good... on me. She pulled away and put her glasses back on. We just stared at each other for a while. I averted from her eyes and looked away, then back at her. She was wearing black ripped jeans, checkered vans, and a white t-shirt underneath her favorite jacket. It was a light brown, worn out, puffy, leather jacket that was about three sizes too big for her. It had three pins on the front of the left side and she wears that thing pretty much everyday. Even if it was too big for her, it fit her image perfectly and made her look adorable.

"Whattt?" Skye questioned with a smirk.

     "What?"

"Why are you looking at me like that, kiddo? Is there something on my shirt? You checking me out or something?"

I felt my face warm up and quickly looked away from her so she couldn't see how bad I was blushing. Skye stared at me, still smirking.

"Let's go to my house, we can hangout and catch up." She gently grabbed my hand and pulled me along with her.

We walked together in silence going to her house. She still seemed upset and I couldn't stop looking at her. As soon as we got to her front door and walked inside, she grabbed my hand again, and took me to her room. She shut the door behind her and sat on the floor next to her bed motioning me to sit next to her. I did as told and sat down, dropping my bag next to me.

"So, what's up. I know something's wrong Skye I can see it on your face. I'm not that stupid." I smiled softly and pulled my knees to my chest.

"I-" She stopped for a few seconds and looked back to me, "I don't think I love River anymore. Yes, he's a good guy but, I haven't really had feelings for him, ever."

I just sat there with a blank expression and raised an eyebrow. That was fast. I'm surprised she dated him for six whole months even if she didn't love him back. She really is a stone wall, and a good person. I know she's only staying with him so he's happy.

"That's sweet but, if you don't love him, leave him. It's not a relationship if only one person is in love." I said then rested my head on my knees.

"Damn, you're still the cold Jo I always knew haha." Skye giggled and ruffled my hair gently. I blushed slightly and looked at the ground.

"Shush. Do you like someone else or do you just not have feelings anymore?" I was looking directly at her now and she stared back. I knew I was still blushing and in fact it was getting worse the more we just sat there in silence looking at each other. Jesus this happpens too much.

Skye looked away, sat up, and leg her legs go out in front of her. "Maybe." She said with a smile.

"Who?!?" I questioned loudly, still looking at her.

"I only said maybe silly, no more details for this one." She ruffled my hair gently, her grin getting wider.

"Fine." I whined and swatted her hand away.

We kept talking for about four hours or so until her phone rudly interrupted us with a loud ring.

Skye grabbed it and stood up, "I'm gonna answer this I'll be back in a sec."

"Okay..." I muttered as she walked out her door and shut it softly behind her. The room was the exact same as I remembered it from before. The queen sized bed in the middle with a dresser a few feet in front of it as a tv hung on the wall. The carpet completly white with no stains on it whatsoever. Her restroom was in the hallway to the left of the bed and had two white towels neatly on a rack.

I sat on her bed and stared off into space, wondering when Skye would be coming back. This must be a serious phone call, she's been out there for ten minuets. She doesn't normally have phone calls like these because she hates it. Skye likes actual interaction way better than technoligy.  Maybe she was talking to River, or her aunt. Whatever it was is keeping her from me and it probably isn't good. To my suprise, Skye quickly came back into the room and gave me a small jump from my thoughts. Her eyes were hard but she was wearing a big grin.

"Ok, you look terrifying what's up?" I looked at her and asked, bluntly.

"River wants to talk to me and maybe I broke up with him. Over phone. The phone." She was speaking rapidly as she pointed to her phone.

"Then talk to him. I can go home." I got up from her bed and put my arms up in surrender.

Skye came up to me and gave me a deep hug, resting her chin on the top of my head, "No no, stay. In fact stay the night I don't wanna go to school tomorrow."

"Skye you're making me feel shorter than I already am, and it's only our first day back we just can't skip the next. River is gonna freak out on you so you should really go talk to him-" She shut my rambling up by booping my nose gently with her finger.

"Calm down Jo, I haven't seen you in four months and plus, I spent all summer with him he won't get mad. He's a pretty calm guy. I'm gonna go make dinner, I'm starving." Skye smiled, genuinley, and let go of me.

She walked out of the room and left me in a big mesh of feelings.

Who knew that one smile could make a girl realize how in love she is.
