Lucas x reader

Lucas couldn’t help but look at (Y/N). She was pretty and sweet and just one of the greatest people he knew. He liked her a lot, but there were just a few obstacles in his way.

One was that she was his friend and he didn’t want to ruin their friendship. Two was that he was fearful of what she would say in response to finding out he liked her. Three was Ms. Riley Matthews, who had a crush on him.

How could Lucas possibly ask (Y/N) out? She wasn’t into him, or so he thought.

(Y/N) actually liked him a lot. She just wouldn’t tell anyone. If she told one of her friends, then word would get back to Riley and the sunshine girl would be crushed. It just couldn’t happen. No one could tell her and she could never find out.

He was sitting in Topanga’s with his friends, (Y/N) included. He was sat across from her, watching her as she laughed with Maya and sipped her smoothie through her straw. He watched how her hair moved with her body movements and then how her eyes twinkled.

He was in love with her. He couldn’t help but to be. He couldn’t help but to think about her angelic voice, the cute crinkles beside her eyes when she laughed, or the way she bit her lip when she had something to say, but wouldn’t say it.

“Hey, (Y/N), do you want to go work on our project back at my place?” Riley asked.

“Where else would we go?” (Y/N) said as she stood up and left with Riley.

Zay and Farkle shared a look as Lucas watched (Y/N) and Riley leave. They then looked at him.

“You’re too obvious,” Zay broke the silence that fell upon the four of them.

“Huh?” the tall Texan asked, looking toward his friends.

“You like her. We all can see it, Ranger Rick,” Maya told him, shaking her head a bit.

“How? What?” Lucas asked, an eyebrow raising in his confusion.

“Go to her,” Farkle said.

“How?” his best friend asked.

“You just do,” Zay told him.

“But what if she doesn’t like me back?” Lucas asked.

“She does,” Maya said plainly.

“What?” the three boys asked, though Farkle and Zay mainly did it to add effect to the situation.

“She does,” the blonde girl repeated. “She likes you back. Heck, even Riley can see it. (Y/N) likes you. She never shuts up about you.”

“She never shuts up about me?” he repeated in the form of a question.

Maya stood and walked over to him. She grabbed him by the shirt and pulled him up. “Look, I’ll say it one more time so you’ll understand,” she told him. She cleared her throat and dawned a fake country accent. “Well she already done did fancy you there, Ranger.”

Lucas gave her a straight faced look as she let him go. “So what do I do?” he asked, fixing his shirt and shaking off Maya’s offensive but playful picking.

“Go after her!” his three friends chorused and pointed to the door.

Their friend nodded and then ran around his seat to the door. He was going to go after her.

He climbed up to Riley’s bay window and looked in. The girls were in the floor leaning over a poster board, glue sticks and bottles of glitter strewn around them.

He pushed open the window and crawled in. “(Y/N),” he called out, making both the girls jump at the sudden noise. They turned to look at him.

“Lucas?” (Y/N) asked, confused. She sat up from her laid out position and looked at him. “What are you doing here?”

Riley took this has her cue. She got on her hands and knees and crawled across the floor, out the door. She jumped up and grabbed the handle, pulling it shut.

“I came to see you,” Lucas explained, feeling stupid for stating what she could clearly see.

She didn’t say anything about it though. “Okay. What about?”

He reached down and took her hand. He helped her up and looked at her. “I like you, (Y/N). I really, really like you.”

“You do?” was the first response out of her mouth, and it wasn’t a bad one. She was shocked, though. All this time, she thought that Lucas would end up with Riley.

“Yeah,” he answered her, getting a small, bashful smile on his face. “Do you like me back?”

She stared up at him, smile slowly forming on her lips. She nodded. “Yeah,” she told him and hugged him, kissing his cheek. “Yeah, I do.”

“Good,” he said,. He wrapped his arms around her and brought her into a sweet and simple kiss.
