After Vixen's first day of Highschool, she was invited to Reńe's house. Vixen first had to check with her mom that it would be okay, then they rode, in a van that Reńe's father had driven, home. When the two girls arrived at Reńe's house, they heard screaming and glass objects shattering. Vixen peeked through the window and saw a middle-aged woman crying and throwing plates, glasses, and decorations.
"I thought she was still in the hospital dad..." Reńe said covering her face.
"If this isn't a good time I can always come back when it's more convenient Mr.. uh.."
Vixen said, embarrassed because she didn't know Reńe's last name.
"Call me Dave. It's Vixen, correct?"
Reńe's father said putting his hand out for a warm greeting.
"Oh, yes sir."
Vixen said nervously while shaking Dave's firm hand. Dave seemed nice and friendly. He was wearing a professional suite and by the looks of his house, he worked for good money.
"Dad! I thought she was in the hospital. The doctors know that she's not well yet, they're giving up!"
Reńe said throwing her arms In the air.
"Uh, dad? I had no idea we were expecting company."
Said Reńe's brother coming out of the house.
"Valor?"
Vixen said.
Reńe and Dave turned with surprise to look at Vixen. Everyone seemed to be confused at this point.
"Okay, let's all start with one thing at a time. Hello Vixen this is our home. Reńe, your mom's doctor said she was well enough to return home, we will take her back up there tomorrow if she isn't better. Now, Landon.. you know Vixen?"
Dave said with calmness.
"Well, of course! This is the girlfriend I have been talking about! Vixen, how come you never told me you knew my sister?" Valor said with excitement.
"Well, because. I.. Valor?.. uh. Can I have a word with you... privately?" Vixen said, confused and obviously angered.
"Uh, this is awkward. How about you drive Vixen home and invite her over Saturday night for dinner?"
Dave said confused, and stressed.
"Perfect!" Valor said happily.
Reńe rolled her eyes and crossed her arms as she entered the house. She looked back at Vixen and mouthed the words I'm so sorry.
Vixen felt bad about the situation, but her mind was focused on why Valor had called her his girlfriend. Vixen was more flattered by the untrue statement than offended, but she knew that was wrong. She tried to convince herself she was angry about the situation, but it was practically impossible!
After a silent five minute drive to Vixen's house, Vixen finally confronted him about the situation.
"Okay, I've never had a boyfriend, but I'm pretty sure you have to ask before you actually become someone's boyfriend."
Vixen said as Valor turned into her driveway.
"I know I know, and I am really sorry. But please just pretend to be my girlfriend, Reńe bet me I couldn't get one by the end of this month! She said if I did, she would buy me the latest version of Battlestar!"
Valor said looking at vixen desperately.
"Battlestar? Seems pretty legit. If I agree to this terrible plan, what do I get in return?"
Vixen said smiling and looking at her hands.
"Hmm, I will buy two tickets to John Green's big meet in LA."
Valor said, positive that it would be a fair trade.
"WAIT.. WHAT?!"
Vixen screamed finally looking at Landon.
"Two tickets. I would enjoy meeting him as well. I read the book you suggested, not too bad!"
Valor said smiling.
"Oh my gosh! we have a deal."
Vixen said and hugged him.
After realizing that she shouldn't have hugged him, Vixen got out of the car hastily.
"So, I guess I'll see you Saturday then."
Valor said as he waved to her.
