Part 9 ~ 13 week scan

1 week later - Monday 26th July

Today is the day that Molly has her 12 week scan (she is due on January 20th but the scan was a little delayed! Soo this is basically a 13 week scan)
Her appointment is at 10am.
Molly and Kim get up at 9am and leave at 9:45am. When they get there, there is a room full of older mums (mums in their 20s-30s) and Molly feels anxious and thinks that everyone is staring at her because of how young she is.
"Molly Graham," calls the midwife.
"Yes, that's me," says Molly as she gets up and walks to the midwife.
"Molly, would you like me to stay here?" asked Kim.
"No..please could you come with me," asked Molly.
"Yeah yeah. I actually wanted to come in with you anyway'" said Kim smiling.
Molly and Kim smile at each other and then the midwife and all three of them walk into the consultation room.
They all sit down and look up at the midwife.
"Hey Molly. My name is Kelly. I will be your midwife throughout your pregnancy, you birth and after your birth, when your little one is here," says Kelly smiling. "Shall I get to know you and how far you are along and how the pregnancy is doing."
"Okay. This is my mum," Molly says as she points to Kim.
"Okay. Thank you. What is your name sorry?" asked Kelly.
"My name is Kim :)," said Kim smiling and shaking Kelly's hand.
"Okay. I am 13 weeks along. I didn't get a scan sooner because I only found out on the 18th June and they couldn't fit me in any sooner. I am 13years of age," Said Molly.
"Okay. That's great. I'm just going to check you over and see if the baby's okay. If you would like to just sit up on the bed," said Kelly. "Thank you."
Molly is very nervous but takes deep breath.
Kelly does what she needs to do. Molly gets off the bed and sits back down on the chair.
"The baby is absolutely fine. All I suggest is that you come in weekly due to how young you are because being younger in age can sometimes, not all the time, cause problems within the pregnancy," says Kelly.
"Okay that's fine thank you. Am I able to get baby scan pictures today?" asked Molly.
"Yes definetly. You get 2 free and if you want anymore then it's a £2.50 charge," says Kelly.

Molly and Kim have one scan picture each. The couldn't see the gender yet but that is yet to come :)
