Chapter one

Page 1

The wind is blowing lightly through her light brown hair as she runs laps in the courtyard.

She stops to look at her watch and then goes over and gets a drink out of the bottle of water that sat on the ground next to the blossom tree.She turned and looked at me with the most beautiful smile then grabbed her bag.The bell had just rung before we left to head home cassie gave me a hug and kissed me .I got home and threw my bag on the floor and headed to the kitchen to get something to eat then went to take a hot shower before bed .

It was five in the morning when I woke up the so I turned over to go back to sleep an hour later the alarm's shrill ring woke me up .I hurried up and got dressed and headed out the door.I arrived at school and cassie was already there but there was something different instead of having her hair put up in a ponytail she had it curled and was wearing a black dress with black heels and light makeup today is her birthday and I had gotten her a giant teddy bear that she has begged me for every time we go to the store.she turned toward me and started to cry with joy Happy birthday babe I say as I get close enough for her to hear me .The bell rang letting us know that the school day has begun .we headed to mr. knotts class first period english and got seated in our assigned seats as the class slowly started .I looked across the room to see that she had her head down facing me eyes closed peacefully sleeping ;Tho not for long mr.knotts is heading over to her desk and hits it with his ruler to wake her up and remind her its class time not nap time .She sat up and looked at me red faced the class was almost up as we got ready to go to our next class mr.knotts called her up to the front of the room and gave her the days assignment.

The day went by with a blur the bell shrill ring rang out as we filed out of our sixth period class and headed to our buses. I was supposed to met Cassie at the courtyard but she was not out there I called her phone she picked up hello she said out of breath .where are you I asked she said I am at home left early I will see you tomorrow and she hung up .When I got home I threw my bookbag on the floor and went up to my room .I heard a gentle knock at the door I got up off my bed feeling sluggish and I opened up my door to find my mom standing there .Time for dinner she says we have been calling you.I set my headset down and grab up my phone then head downstairs behind my mom .I eat in a hurry then call cassie before I head to bed she sound upset stewart said standing in my doorway .Go away I shouted throwing a pillow at him.

I woke up early friday morning and headed out the door in my normal routine and got to school I am walking up to the front of the school to se cassie standing there hair put up into its usual up braided bun with the most radiant smile on her face sorry about yesterday she said I didn't want to talk I was with my dad I hardly get to see him its okay I say as I wrap her in a hug it's okay.We walk to mr.knotts class today we have a sub that's the normal for this teacher he is always making sure he is with his family for everything but when it comes down to what his students need he dont care .The school year was only four months away from being on winter break and he has not had one nice streak poor guy .Cassie giggles as we enter the classroom you're so dramatic she says as she sits down in her seat in across from me. we get through class with ease the rest of the day seemed to take its time going by . During fifth period there was a new student her name was carol  she was short has dark green eyes with a light touch and dark brown hair with blonde tips she almost resembled Cassie but Cassie was tall blue eyed and a brunet .the last bell rung releasing the students to there buses .Cassie was waiting outside Mrs. Varnes  math pod for me I walked her home .The rest of the school year went by pretty fast before we knew it there was only two days before we went on break .The start to my winter break would start like any other except this time I have Cassie. The life I had before her was a disaster.
