I was covered with a supers wax wrapper and guided into Mansoor's house(parents house).

My paternal aunty, goggo Shafah sat me down on a mat that was spread under the canopies.

His family unveiled(pansa) me with the sum of 1million naira, a holy Qur'an, a prayer mat, five exclusive atampas, a tasbih (supplication counter), and a whole set of an expensive Arabian perfume.

Then Sameerah unveiled me, raising the wrapper three times before taking it off completely, and raised up my chin, and his family appreciate my beauty.

"Masha Allah amarya kyakyawa(beautiful bride)!".

  I heard some women saying.

And they named me Yawuro(a name given to the first wife of the first son of a Fulani family...though it sounds kinda old).

My family also unveiled the ango(groom)with the sum of 758k, a Qur'an, perfumes and 3 shaddas.

Mansoor was also wearing a black kaftan. We were all looking impressive and stunning.

After all the dancing to hausa traditional wedding songs, eating, drinking and going back home, I slumped down on my bed damn tired. I had to take pain relieving pills again.

I woke up the next day as early as 5, I prayed, took my bath and sat down for a lecture by my senior aunties and Ummah.

"Kibi mijinki. Be obedient to him and his parents....".

Do this do that, don't do this don't do that....blah blah blah!!

I was fed up. All I needed was rest, and I need the tears to stop, my head was throbbing badly.

Later in the evening I got dressed into a yellow ankara gown and by and by I was all ready for my husband.

Almost all my family members, friends, bridesmaids, well wishers accompanied me to my husband's house(conveyance of the bride).

I entered the house with my right foot, a bismallah and some other duas seeking protection against shaytaan and his co's from Almighty.

Masha Allah the house is nice, a three bedroom storey which consists of a sitting room, dinning area, three rooms with a toilet in each of the rooms, a big kitchen and store, then a backyard or should I say kind of a garden with a small pool.

I cant lie am already in love with this house.

I was crying when my family members were living. Haleemah was the one consoling me( she came for my wedding all the way from Katsina).

I was left with my friends. They were staying over or lets say sleeping over for the barbecue.

In the night, actually around eight, the bbq was held at the backyard.... fire was lit everywhere(bonfire) and mats spread on the ground.

The food included mashed and baked potatoes, a big roasted ram,  grilled chicken,  and natural fruits drinks.

I was wearing a white knee length shirt and black denim jeans with knee high boot. Mansoor was also wearing a white T shirt and a black jeans, uniforming with mine.

We all sat down round the fire( Mansoor and I, my friends and his friends) eating, drinking and chatting away as cool music played.

We later retired in for the night at 12:00.

Early in the morning my friends got ready to leave. I hugged them especially my bosom friend haleemah and cried.

They pulled away from me, teasing me as I cried, wishing I could follow them.

I was just pretending oo, but deep down, I was even happy they were leaving so I could be with my baby.

   And that night...that night!!

It was the night of bliss, the night of love, the night from heavens. The night when Mansoor showed me how much he love me, the night I became a woman. The night I got married to him and gave him my 'dignity'.

The night we became each other's.
