The school was filled with noise, though nothing else mattered to the Laura except food. She was always alone, she didn't think much of it. Associating herself with others was too troublesome. Laura just wanted to glide through school.

No friends means no trouble.

She had no interest in a boyfriend, and they had none in her. She liked it that way. Even if they tried to get close to her, she'd shoot them a glare or insult that'd make them shut right up. Though as lunch ended and class begun, she'd walk to her desk in a less I-don't-care-about-anything mood. Laura hated being late.

When she got to her seat, she noticed a circle of both boys and girls surrounding what she assumed to be a student.

Of course, Laura ignored it.

Mr. Thomas, the teacher and a well educated man, walked through the door. He asked that everyone to retire to their seats. And at that moment, her eyes rose just enough to grab said student's attention. He gave her a smile. She gave him a glare. Looking to avoid further interaction, she turned her face down to the class workbook. She tried to pay full attention to the workbook instead of the boy who seemed to grab the class's attention. Even the teacher's.

"Alright, enough of that. Go ahead and find a seat Cody." The teacher began dismissing the students to their seats. "If the staff sees us slacking off, that won't bode well."

Laura was flipping to the page number that was written on the board when the chair beside her was pulled out. Out of surprise, she shot her head up, just enough to see the brown-shaded hair, the one dimple on his cheek,

And his golden eyes.
