It's been two weeks since the funeral. Within that whole time not only me but my whole family was just lounging around, never spoke to eachother. I stayed in my room and every so often Mom would come in with a meal or snack, even though I felt too sick to eat. Dads been the only one leaving the house on a regular basis to go to work. A few days ago he got a cheque, like a big cheque. It's one of the guilt treatments. Our neighbour Ms.Lindsay comes over once every two days with a different dessert. Cory used to help cut her lawn and he fixed her car a few times. Ms.Lindsays husband died a few years ago from a heart attack and Cory was always making time to make sure she was alright. I guess she felt she should return the favour. "Ruth," Mom knocked on my door. I looked at her and she walked in. "We're going back to school shopping tomorrow." I turned back around. I was fine with the clothes I had. Cory was the one who needed new ones.
