It is early on a Sunday morning but I can't relax. I need to leave soon to go to London with my boyfriend, Harvey. Oh, I bet you're wondering why I didn't say, family? I will tell you why I don't have any... well, I do but we don't get along.

Harvey is still asleep so I let him lie in while I have a shower and do my makeup and hair. I really hope this goes well because my dream is to be a singer. I've never felt so nervous in my life, I'm scared they're not going to like me or I'm going to mess up. What will I do if this doesn't go right? Because I can't carry on singing —everyone will make fun of me. Oh well, I better start getting ready.

I pick up my hairbrush and put my hair in a bun. I wish I'd added the highlights like I meant to all this past week. They would make me feel a bit happier with my boring brown hair.

After rummaging through my closet, I grab my new white tank top, black ripped knee jeans and my black and white converse trainers. Harvey must've woken up while I was getting ready because I smell bacon cooking downstairs. I love him, I really do.

After we eat breakfast, Harvey quickly showers and dresses while I wait downstairs. After 20 minutes he is ready so we put on jackets and I picked up my bag and guitar case. Harvey gets our packed suitcase and we leave the house. This audition could change my life, I'm fed up with working where I currently am I. Don't get me wrong, I like working there but singing is what I want to do. It's what I was born to do.

We are nearly at the train station when my phone beeps, with a text from Claudia,

"Me and the girls are going ice skating tonight, you up for it?"

"Can't sorry, currently going to the train station,"

I reply.

I quickly get a message back

"Where are you going?"

When we get to the station, Harvey goes to get the tickets while I reply to Claudia,

"London."

"What? You're going to London without me and the girls?"

"Yeah, sorry but it's important and I hope you girls understand,"

I reply.

The train isn't due for another fifteen minutes so we go to get a drink. While waiting I get a reply from Claudia

"Promise you will keep in touch and post pictures."

"I promise, I also promise next time we will go together, our squad can go for a week or something."

When the train arrived, we got on and found a seat with a table. It is a four-hour journey and I wanted to be able to write some lyrics, read my book, or something. I love traveling and I know if I do well in this competition I will do quite a bit of it. The one thing I hate though is the dark. I don't know why but I know there are others that have the same fear.

An hour into our journey, I realize I don't have my lucky necklace. I can't go to this audition without it but I can't go back and get it. I tell Harvey and he makes me a great suggestion, I text Claudia and she agrees. She and the girls will pack up some things, get my necklace and come down to London. I can't wait for this adventure, I've never been to London before and neither have the girls.

I couldn't believe I have forgotten my necklace, I just hope Claudia can get here before the competition starts.

I try not to think about my necklace and start to write some lyrics, accidentally singing them out loud as I write

"When you put on your Smile

I feel a splash of fresh air"

I realized I was when Harvey adds

"When you put on your faded blue jeans

I can't help but stare

When you look me in the eyes"

I then continue with

"You tell me something

I nod and smile

Because I'm really just counting

The colours in your eyes"

The rest of the passengers on the train start to clap when we finish.

I can't believe we got the reaction we did. I am happy about it but now we need to finish the lyrics before we get to London.

I spent a bit of time before going back to finishing the lyrics with Harvey, this time just passing the piece of paper back and forth.

We had nearly finished the lyrics when a gentleman around mine and Harvey's age come to sit at the table and began telling mine about a band he is trying to start up. We spoke and exchanged details before he left as he'd arrived at his destination.

We continued our journey to London we must have been a 2 hours into the 4 hour train ride when the train slowed down, we are nowhere near a station through. Everyone sits wondering what's going on, we get an announcement,

"Thank you for your patience, we are sorry that we've had to stop the train, there has been an accident on the tracks ahead, please stay calm and we will keep you informed of what's going to happen once we know."

We all chatted and waited until there was an announcement

"Hey everyone, thank you for your patience, we have been instructed that we are able to carry on until the next station where you will be transferred to replacement busses for the rest of your journey"

We finally arrive in London, me and Harvey slept most of the bus journey, the hotel is amazing, fridge to store some food in, big bathroom with a bath and shower, walk in wardrobe, double bed and television. We are both tired so we lie down for a nap.
